Well all sounds good this morning, no problems anymore with fur shots since i had Leo's scruff and shoulder blades shaved......poor kitty has a funny fur-cut, but is still very handsome!

All is well, my big cat was out hunting until late last night and got a few mice to snack on. I watched him catch a mouse last week and he brought it to the front door and devoured it in about 3 bites. Must be pretty tasty!

Hopefully this bounce business clears soon and we start seeing some nice greens!

That mouse meal must be the perfect balance of carbs, proteins, fats :lol: :lol: Tell Leo to order 'take out'. Hey! There's an idea for a business, Mobile Mousie Meals...balanced meals for your diabetic cat. There's a market there! OK, That proves it. I've officially gone off my rocker. Have a great day Leo. Gus says he loves Leo's new summer-time haircut. :-D

Hahaha Bev!! Mousie meal on wheels, i would definitely love to be a part of that. Of course you would have to have some sort of maze that your cat could run thru in order to catch his "meal" just to make it seem more real.

Awwwwww thanks Gus and Devon, you are very sweet and Leo feels more manly now knowing everyone loves his new "cut"

I believe that Celi used to keep a patch of fur cut off of Binksy so she could see skin. Gracie has very thick fur and I always make sure I part it and shoot into skin. Those fur shots can be frustrating...even if you think 100% of the insulin went on the fur, you still can't give them more insulin. I think we've probably all done a fur shot!! Come on down big handsome Leo!!

For the last couple of summers, I've had Champ shaved because he has such a thick undercoat of these almost invisible little hairs that get into my eyes and cause a major allergic reaction (the membrane covering my eyeballs swell out from between my eyelids...it's really gross and scary!!). It was either get rid of the cat or get him shaved. There's no way I was getting rid of my baby, so shaved it is. :lol: He gets a lion cut and looks AWESOME. I love it that I can see his belly button when he's shaved. For some reason (and I'm not complaining) Las Vegas hasn't gotten hot yet so I can't get him shaved yet...but the day is coming and I can't wait!!! His hair is driving me nuts :lol:

OMG Champ must look sooooo adorable with the lion cut!!! Please post pictures when you do it! I have always thought about doing it to Leo just to see what he would look like, but he seems to know when ppl make fun of him and that makes him grumpy...

And of course you could never get rid of your baby, I'd do the exact same thing!

Ahhh the weather in Vegas....must be nice, where I work its -3 celsius today (27 or so in F) with snow still on the ground (not much left tho!) and 3 feet of ice still on the lakes. In fact I was out ski-doing yesterday!

I think from now on I'll just keep that part of Leo shaved. It just makes life easier knowing the needle and insulin is actually going in.
 
Looks like someone has started walking on his lil kitty toes again! Hopefully this is the beginning of the end of that horrible neuropathy. Methyl B12 3mg a day finally working?

Still some bouncing going on, Leo really likes the trampoline!
 
Dr. Lisa says that the perfect food for a cat is fresh-caught mouse. Mouse Meals on Wheels sounds like it would be a big hit!!

Rusty is looking forward to seeing Leo at the party tonight. I don't think mouse is on the menu tonight, but it has been at some of the other parties. Grilled mouse, mmmm!

I have a picture from the 1st year I had him shaved. He does look embarrassed!! :lol: He really loves it, though, because it keeps him so cool. I need to talk to the groomer who shaves him and see if she'll do him before the shop opens to reduce his stress.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!

I love it!!! Champ is so freaking adorable, I especially love the last picture of him on your lap!!!!! The tie just makes the whole look come together nicely!!! LOL!!! Where on earth did you find that tie? He IS very dapper, and very handsome! He does have a bit of a belly, just like Leo but it makes him look like a distinguished gentleman, and yes you can totally see his lil belly button......awwwwww i just want to love him up with smooches and hugs!!!

Leo can't wait to meet Rusty and Champ and the rest of the gang at the party tonight......if there is no mouse on the menu that is no problem, he also has a taste for weasel, baby ducklings, snakes and hummingbirds!
 
That's actually my daughter holding Champ. That's how she holds him all the time and he'll only tolerate it with her. That position does make him look a tad rotund for sure. :lol:

I got that tie for him at Target. It actually looks like a shirt collar with a tie attached. We also have a sailor collar and tie, too. He doesn't even mind wearing them either and he does look ADORABLE. :-D
 
LOL :lol: I love that you dress him up! My mom usually buys cute lil jackets and stuff for her dogs and since Leo is pretty much dog size i'll make him wear lil outfits too, just to get a laugh and some pictures. About a month ago i had him wearing a lil aviator jacket and he pranced around in it for quite awhile, i think he knew he looked pretty bad-assed in that jacket, all that was missing were the aviator shades! I'll have to get the pictures off my blackberry and show them to you, they are pretty cute :)

He sits like a little baby for your daughter, its pretty cute. A sailor collar as well???? Awwwwwwwww......just a picture of cuteness i have in my head of him.

The things the fur-kids will tolerate to make their parents happy.....right?

Well i'm off to bed, have a good night and get some much deserved sleep Patty!
