Good day everyone!

Juba's AMBG was 122 this morning and then at +4 she was 58!

I have some questions about feeding advice though...
Do many fur parents/cat guardians ensure their kitties have food at all their rotational feeding times?

Here's Juba's feeding schedule now:

8:30am AMBG
9:00am Breakfast
1:00pm recheck BG
1:00pm Lunch
5:00pm Recheck BG
5:00pm Pre Dinner meal
8:30pm PMBG
9:00pm Dinner
12:00am Recheck BG
12:00am small chicken snack

Would it be more beneficial for Juba to continue her feeding schedule 24/7?
I would be willing to do this if it would be more beneficial to her. Or if she were to eat at +8 before her AMBG so she's not as high?

In some cats that are close to OTJ feeding at +9 will stimulate the pancreas enough to bring down the preshot/pmbg numbers 3-4 hours later. It's a trial/error thing - so you'll just have to see if it does that with Juba or not.

If I were you, I'd probably feed the breakfast right after checking the AMBG at 8:30, same thing with the PMBG/dinner. I'm just thinking of your convenience. The idea is small, frequent meals - how exactly you make that work is up to you.

It does look like eating brings her BGs down a few hours later.

WAIT - I meant to say Congrats on Day 4!!!!

What a great recovery to +4 - looks like Juba's pancreas is reporting for duty. :D Happy Day 4.

If you want to bring down the AMPS test numbers, it may be beneficial to try feeding at PM +8 or +9. Do you have an autofeeder you could load with a couple tsp of food?

With ChrisFarley, feeding him in that +8.5-+9.5 spot is exactly what we needed to do to stop that PS climb. What spikes some cats, flattened him right out. He quit doing it after some time and in OTJ now he doesn't spike like that.

Looking great Juba!! :D :D Happy Day 4! :D :D :D

Rosa's another one who has to eat to keep her BG down - she's free fed but tends not to bother eating while we're asleep. I have to make sure I feed her and wait a bit before I test her or her numbers can finish up being close to 120. I don't get up at her old +8 to feed her though - I just wait until later in the day to test her. :)
