Last Condo

We're baaaack! Actually, we got home yesterday evening, but there was just too much to get done to sit down and type a condo, and it would have been another really late one, so I opted to wait till today.

Everyone survived the weekend of boarding. As usual, things did not go exactly as I would have wished, and I spent a lot of time last night debating with myself about how to handle it. In the end, I've decided that I am never going to find someone that will treat Cinco's FD the way that I do, and as long as I have him with someone that is experienced with diabetic animals and veterinary care, and who loves animals and really likes my babies, I have to accept the little annoyances and look at the big picture. Dawn was actually gone on vacation this weekend. Her daughter, Morgan, who adores cats, was "in charge", and the senior vet tech from the UCD radiation oncology department was the one who administered the insulin, fluids, meds, etc. I knew about this in advance, but I had thought he would be there to test during the day. Apparently not. He also, like everyone else, doesn't buy into the 12 hour Lantus cycle, so overall it was the right call to have him shoot 1.0 units. I do plan to stress to Dawn that I need her to give the AM shot on pick up day a little closer to our "normal" time, so we can get back on schedule easier. As it is, Paul shot at 8:43 am (normal time is 6:30). I made the decision to give the PM shot at 7:45, and to shoot 1.0 units because it was an early shot. Cinco's numbers looked good last night, all things considered. We shot our "regular" current dose of 1.25 this morning, at 7:30, and will continue to adjust shot times by 15 minutes and should have him back on schedule on Wednesday night. Hopefully he'll also be back to those lovely numbers he had before we left. I just know he's itching to get down to the lagoon to hang out with his buddies!

All kitties did well while incarcerated - Minka had one day when she would only eat baby food and deli turkey, but she did eat, so I'm okay with that. She's having one of those days today, but I gave her Cypro a couple of hours ago and DH just informed me she is cleaning off all three of the plates of cat food I had left in the office for her! :)

Sasha's breathing sounded fine to Paul, and still does to me, so the new med appears to be working. Her appy is not quite happy, but she did finally finish her breakfast and even ate a small snack in the early afternoon.

Harvey was apparently "Very cooperative" about being sacked and pilled. I guess my working with him has paid off! Of course, they had the advantage over me - they didn't have to catch him first, like I do! :joyful:

We had fun in Reno, even though Mark's bowling team placed last in the sweepers and the slot machines were very unkind to me! It was fun to just get away, and now I'm up to my eyebrows in laundry, and all the other things that need sorting out after a few days away.

I'll try to visit some condos and get caught up on everyone tonight.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug: Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.

Lookin pretty snazzy there, Cinco man!

Come swims in da lagoon wif me Cinco! But not too far...momma seyz no fuds for me after 830 cuz I gonna go take a nap at the vetty's office ~Skooter

Overall it sounds like the kitties did well at Dawn's. Cinco is looking good today. I bet he'll be back in the lagoon in no time. I'm glad you had a good trip.

Welcome home, Tricia! I'm glad that everything went reasonably well during your absence. I like your new attitude!

Enjoy doing laundry, etc. Too bad you didn't strike it rich in Vegas!

All things considered, I'd say Cinco's numbers are pretty darn good!!

I agree that it's probably impossible to ever find someone who'll care for our kitties as well as we would, so you do the best you can. At least you know that your kitties get good care while at Dawns

Great that Minka and Sasha are eating too! And YEAH on the new med for Sasha improving her breathing!

OK now Cinco...time to get back to working that juice and heading back to the lagoon with your best buds!! They've missed you!

Welcome home - I was hoping you be back for Cinco's day tomorrow. It looks like it won't be long until he finds the lagoon again.

Not a bad kitty boarding report, all things considered. It is pretty hard to find anyone as crazy as us to look after our kitties the way we do. They were still looked after much better than most people do at home.

Good to see you back here Tricia-I bet you really needed to get away from it all! Glad to hear your crew survived and that Minka and Sasha are eating--Harvey too! And Cinco, we know he will bounce right back in the lagoon in no time! No one could possibly look after your fur babies like you do!! The important thing is to find someone at least competent and that you do get away once in awhile! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yup, looks like Cinco is jumping back in with both feet - lower PMPS than last AM check.

Thanks for visiting us, Molly, Carla, Ella, Chris, Wendy, Ruth and Rhiannon. I feel better knowing you understand my situation and agree. I guess I need to be a little less obsessive, and as long as Cinco isn't harmed by this, I'm going to have to adjust. DH thinks I'm nuts - wanted to shoot at 7 and I insisted on closer to 7:15. It's gonna take me a while to loosen up! :p

Harvey inhaled dinner and has been begging for more for the past half hour. Minka took a while to get started, but ate about 2/3, with my holding the plate in front of her face. Sasha needed seasoning.... the usual!

Gotta go start dinner for the beans now. So glad to "see" you all again. @MollynSkooter, saying prayers and sending vines for tomorrow. :bighug:

Sounds like things went well, all things considered. I think you're right, though...no one will EVER be able to take care of our babies up to our standards. I'm glad appies are looking good...sending along some vines for good measure!
