Please advise. I took the reduction. Has a vet appointment tomorrow morning. Trying to get a urine sample for vet. ‘vet needs a link to Marmy’s spread sheet. Can anyone help me with that?

Thank you. What is my signature. I do see a box that says Amazon link on the right side below the pale blue ribbon above my new post but nothing happens when I click it. I am such a clutch with this stuff. Thanks again

Are you posting from your computer or phone (or something else)? If you let me know what you're using, I can send you screenshots to walk you through finding it again in the future. :)

Oh Marmy, what were you thinking! I'm glad you took the reduction, she sure wasn't interested in 1.25u anymore! I know you have been doing this for a while, but I wanted to offer a few suggestions. Many of us have the sticky on how to deal with low numbers printed out, it helps to be able to quickly refer to the instructions. http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/dont-panic-or-how-to-handle-low-numbers.210109/

With the lower +2, it seems she was showing that the cycle was going to be busy. At that point, it might have been good to get some carbs on board sooner. I find when Mav drops on Lev that quickly, he's going to be keeping things interesting.

The FF chicken gravy lovers is only 15% carb, and since she continued to drop after the 42 at +3, I would have considered a couple of drops of syrup or honey, to get her numbers up quickly. Some kitties are really carb sensitive, but it didn't appear that the 15% was doing much at all. When this happens we suggest bringing out the big guns, ie. syrup. Also, part of the sticky in handling low numbers, is making sure you test more frequently (every 15-20 mins per the sticky) to see that the carbs you intervened with are bringing her up, and that numbers don't change direction, since gravies and syrup can wear off quickly. It may be that you tested more often than each hour, but I couldn't tell from your SS. We always want to get the kitty up to safe numbers as quickly as possible, and continuing with high carb food and or syrup until she can safely stay up above 50. If you are ever unsure, please post and ask for help, especially if she isn't really going up at all, we never want to see any members struggling to bring their kitties up to a safe range.

Good luck with the vet visit, I hope it goes well :)

Great idea on the sticky. I will track it down and print it. And I have both honey and syrup on hand but long ago, when Marmy was dubbed a “bouncer” I was told that I should try the lowest amount of high carb possible to get her safe. When she took so long to get out of those bad lows I was considering syrup. Today has been all 200’s. My prediction is that tomorrow she will skyrocket into the 300 and 400 ranges. Oh boy. Yes, I did test every 15-20 minutes when she was in danger but never quite sure how to show that on the SS. When I post to ask for help in these kinds of situations should I use the SOS prefix?
Thank you so much for your advice and guidance. I am going now to search out the sticky with the guidelines to follow. I hope she urinates in the special no absorb litter in her box. So far, she has refused to all day. I am quite nervous about her holding it in all this time but the vet office said she will go eventually or they will force her to give some urune in the office tomorrow morning. Thank you for the good luck on the vets. Prayers would help also if you would. Enjoy your evening.

I linked it for you in my post, if you click on the blue text, it will open to the sticky ;)

Or just go to the top of the forum for the Lantus/Basalgar and Levemir subforum we are in, and you'll see the stickies with the yellow sticky note in front.

Well here's the thing, Mav is a bouncer too, and I agree that you want to find the lowest amount of carbs to bring them up, but this is where know thy cat comes into play. With Mav *usually* I find I can bring him up with 9% carbs if he is under 50. If that doesn't work within the next test, then I bring out the 14-15% carbs. When we first got a lower number, I gave him 1/2 a can of 21% carb...he didn't stay low for long :p. Now I know to follow his numbers, and steer if he isn't getting a good bump up. But what Marmy needs may be different and maybe 15% carbs usually works for her, but that cycle she just needed a little more ummpf. FF has some other foods in the 20% range that you might want on hand just in case too.

With mid cycle tests you just need to stagger the numbers in the same cell so 42 @+3
And next test @ +3.25 or +3.5, if that makes sense?

Most definitely with numbers under 30 you can add the 911 prefix, and people will help if they are available :). Even if you post the dropping numbers and say help! Numbers dropping, that works too.

Hope she does manage to go in her box for the visit tomorrow, I find Mav likes to go to the box right after he has eaten, maybe she's waiting until then too.

Sending prayers for you and sweet Marmy :bighug:

Wow! Thank, you thank you thank you. Your Mav and my Marmy have a good deal in common, I think.i already printed out the don’t panic low numbers pages and I remember early on some long nights but mot for a long time. I will try the +3, +3.25, . The box will just expand to accommodate. I think. She does usually “go” after breakfast and dinner but not today. And most of all, the prayers are greatly appreciated. I seem to recall sending “vines” when I was first posting,on the board but forgot how that all started. I’m sure the Good Lord has it all straight as long as we say the prayer. You have bee. Mot helpful.
