More juice please

The MamaBeans ripped off the patience pants and increased the juice. I think we were hesitant because this would be the highest dose yet of Lantus for our guy, always reluctant to break that record. Paws crossed the new numbers trend will continue. We had a calm and restful night. Z was napping in the morning sun and now has headed outside to his domain. MamaLizBean put up his cabana to give him some shade so Z is in full summer mode now. :razz:

MamaLizBean is out for a bike ride before it gets too windy. The kitties and I are enjoying a lazy Caturday morning, now that the three of us are retired. ;-)

OT - fire report. The fire is over 21,000 acres and 90% contained. The top level firefighting team (Type 1) is transitioning back to a local Type 3 team today. About 500 people left on the fire doing mop up, clean up, rehab and patrolling the perimeter to ensure containment. We are forecast to have windy conditions today and tomorrow so this will be the test. The breezy conditions have moved the smoke away from us today, just a whiff now and then. The last of the evacuees in Oak Creek canyon were allowed to return home Thursday and now have to start preparing for flooding when the monsoons start and hit the areas most affected by the high intensity fire. Our entire area is now entering Type II fire restrictions so no campfires of any kind, thank goodness!

Hey Mr. Z-Man! Got da zoomies? Oh u got more juice - how about using it instead of racin' up those silly colorful floors!!!

Anne - so glad things are finally settling down with the fire. It was awful to watch from here, I can't imagine how it felt there.

Liz - you make me tired, I huff and puff about block 8 riding right now, my legs are on fire and my behind hurts!

Question for you all - what do you give/do for Z-Man for motility besides tummy rubs? We're still struggling with Snowshoe's backed up poop. It's coming out but there's still lots that just doesn't move nearly as quickly as it should.

TillieGirl - can't forget you sweet girl....headbutts and kissy...

Oh dear, I don't like those reverse slides nearly as much. :roll: Pokie break for the rest of the day. Hey Z-man - how about turning it around now?

Good news on the fire front. I hope you can get through the rest of this month and next without anything stupid happening.

Good luck with the new dose. I hope that's just some NDW. It sounds like Zener had a good morning.

I hope the wind doesn't cause any problems with the fire being contained.

Yes, let's pretend we didn't see this PMPS. And paws crossed it is indeed a delayed NDW!

Zener was having more trouble than ever tonight trying to get around. We decided to go in to our vet before our appointment for his next anal expression (June 9) since our regular vet was doing walk in hours tonight. We called and they weren't busy so off we went, didn't need to worry about testing and low BGs with that PMPS. She did a thorough exam of his spine and hips, plus reviewed his x-rays, (and watched a video Liz had taken on the iPad) and thinks he is having a combination of neurologic weakness in his back legs (he was born with CH) and pain from his hips. As she said after looking at the x-ray "his hips are a mess". When we give him small doses of bupe, it does seem to help his mobility, but decreases his GI motility and gets his GI system in a knot. And the Adequan injections seem to help too but for only a few days. So, she recommended we give gabapentin a try and start acupuncture. We will add those in next week. We asked if we could have side-by-side bean acupuncture along with Zener. ;-)

And his anal glands were full of normal thick chunky "Zener-style" stuff, no fluid like he had before when one was infected. Morning duty MamaLizBean is tucked away in bed with both Zener and Tillie, so everyone is resting comfortably after our Caturday night vetty outing.
