Taz earned a reduction last Friday but I didn't take it. I had been thinking about increasing his dose and I didn't feel like a decrease would have been in his favor. His numbers are normally higher than I'd like, and I feel like Friday's low was a fluke.
Anyway, he's been at 1.75 units for several weeks and I'm at a point where I don't know what to do. I don't want him to get insulin toxicity. Do I increase, decrease, or stay put?
I don't think I can do TR because I have an obsession with poking him, so that I can know where his glucose is constantly. I have promised myself (and him) that I won't test him more than 4-5 times daily, unless he is dropping quickly or is lower than normal. I don't think TR would be a good choice as I'd have to know how it was affecting him nonstop.
Also, his +1 and +2 are almost always lower than his preshot numbers. Why is this?
