AMPS 279. Blood ketones: 0.6. Weight: 10lbs 3.5oz. BG is a bit high but still okay. Ketones are up from last nights check, which I expected from the bubble wearing off, but down from yesterday's AM check, so definitely improving. Weight is up a couple ounces. Another night with no vomits. 1 or 2 deposits in the box, consistency looked to be mostly pudding so not much change from yesterday but frequency is definitely down. All in all looking like we're still improving with the Metro.

Got a vet apt in a couple hours and going to discuss the longer term Metro with them, ask about Kaolin-Pectin as another anti-diarrheal, Cerenia injections since the pills didn't seem to work and would make him vomit, and Buprenorphine for pancreatitis pain. So we might come home with a few new medications but hopefully much better management.

Alright, back from the vet. She was fine with the longer cycle of Metro. I was actually impressed that she seemed up to date on it, having concerns about how long term use can cause issues but was on board with the plan to use it for a month or so to keep things in check while we get the B12 on board and try a diet change to treat the IBD. She was also up to speed on how it could either be IBD or Small Cell Lymphoma and if the diet doesn't work we'd want to do a biopsy to confirm a diagnosis before we started any steroids. Got a Cerenia injection there and then I got two more to use at home. Also got a couple vials of Bupe and then they're going to get more sent to my house directly from the compounding lab, and just gave him his first dose. She said we'll need to play with the dose a bit to see what's effective, anywhere from .1 to .15, so I started him off at the lowest and we'll see what happens.

All in all things have already been improving with the Metro alone, so hopefully the Cerenia and Bupe will get things further under control and get him eating on his own again.

That’s great news! I hope we see Sebastian eating on his own soon! Happy to hear your vet visit went better than expected :)

That sounds like you have a very good vet!! A true partnership in the car of Sebastian. Hope he feels better soon!

The stop in weight loss...that is a good sign.

269@+9, PMPS 238. Blood ketones 0.1.

Not much change in BG but ketones are almost gone and that's without me giving a bubble this morning, so that's great. He hasn't been to the box all day, just now went and it was still pretty wet, a little more solids than usual, but the fact that frequency is way down, I'm betting he's got some bigger solids building up inside that he'll get out later. He's been pretty sleepy all day, we're thinking it's a combination of being a little bit stoned off the bupe and finally get a chance to rest and recuperate and not have to head to the potty every couple hours. So I'm just gonna let him rest, not going to force feed him the syringes right now. Still going to give him the shot but with the BG being so high, and I did feed him 3 hours ago, I'm not worried about it being an empty stomach. I put out some solid food, a mixture of the turkey and the beef that he likes, and I'm betting in about an hour he'll either go eat that himself or come tell me he's hungry and I'll give him some syringes.
