So I took Pia off insulin 8 days ago and her numbers have been great. At night she goes down, into the green, in the morning she's in the low blues. This morning she was 128. Can you bounce without insulin? Should I be worried? Should I just see how she is tonight?

Just wondering why you are using "two weeks under 150" as your guideline? Typically kitties should be in normal number range, which is lower than 150. We like kitties to get insulin support as long as they safely can, to ensure a stronger remission. On TR, Pia would not have earned a reduction down to an OTJ trial. You might want to check out this post on earning reductions and starting OTJ trials.

When are you feeding Pia? With a sputtering pancreas, a small meal at +8 to +9 can help bring the numbers down. Maybe that's what you are seeing at night if you are feeding during the day but not the night.

Your last post here, for continuity.

To be completely honest, I ran out of insulin and needles and just figured I'd give it a try. My vet said it was fine to try because her numbers were so good and she was on such a small amount. The 150 was her suggestion. With that being said, she was 85 tonight. And hasn't been over 118 til this morning. Thank you for responding.

We normally look for kitties to be all green to be ready for an OTJ trial. Maybe try a small snack a few hours before AMPS to see if that brings Pia down.
