This is our 9th day on Levemir with KT. I'm not nearly as familiar with it as Lantus and NPH so not sure what I'm seeing other than a set of 'numbers'. His food is all LC including the dog food he eats for breakfast. His meds are just digestive enzymes, probiotics, LLysine and zobaline, nothing to give him extra 'sweet'.

If you have experience with Levemir and see something that makes sense, PLEASE comment! Just the last days since starting Levemir - well notated on his ssheet. Anything prior to that is really ugly and not applicable....

THANK YOU!!!!! BIG HUGS TOO!!!!

Hi Lyresa - big set of HUGS to you! I so remember the feeling when we switched from Lantus to Levemir last September. I felt like a complete newbie again. It does take a while for kitties to really start working the Levemir and getting those really flat cycles. It took me almost a month before I started getting an idea of how Neko was doing on Levemir. I'd keep getting tests in the +7, +8 or +9 range like you have, to see if you can pinpoint the nadir, cause it looks like it's somewhere in there. I'm also ignoring the first couple of days on Levemir, cause there could be some influence from the Lantus depot in there.

I do think KT needs an increase to 1.0U but without one or two night nadir tests it's hard to say for certain. That's the part I don't like about Lev. Neko's night time nadir is often around 4:30 AM.

KT - no words of help from us on Levemir. I wanted to answer your motility question from Zener's condo in one of your condos, to be sure you would see it.

For motility, we used Miralax - 1/8t twice a day. He also is on other GI meds for his IBD - ondansetron for nausea and cerenia for pain and inflammation. Our vet suspects his motility issues are related to the effects of FD on his GI system. The miralax keeps his poo softer so he doesn't get constipated too. We used Raglan for motility a couple of years ago, but it made his cerebellar hypoplasia symptoms worse.

Thanks Anne! We're already using Miralax for Mr. Poohead Snow....I didn't know if you were using Cisapride or not.

Not too 'wow' of a day for Mr. KT - big pink toad! I have a feeling this morning's dog food was combo with beef in it...that doesn't help us see ANYTHING does it? Beef is at least MC for him.

HUGS TO ALL!!!!
