Hello!

AMPS is 110.

First blue AMPS I've seen in two weeks. I'm not sure what's going on here. He's been in the higher greens since the dose reduction to .5u. Even seeing a blue. I'm wondering if the reduction was too fast or the problem of syringe markings being slightly off between syringes. Or NDW. I don't know. Do y'all have an idea? I could be just worrying too much, but the previous doses had him in lower greens like in the 50s-70s and an 80 at most some nights. These current numbers let me sleep more, which I do need, but I worry since it's different than what he's had before. Maybe he's just being a cat. :)

I'm thinking to maybe take the syringe markings being slightly off out of the equation. If I were still buying syringes week to week, I'd buy a set of terumo(?) syringes and go with calipers, but I have 57 syringes left of the ReliOn box I bought. So buy this caliper y'all linked to me and then try to figure out the measurements for the ReliOn syringes? Which I hope I don't screw that up. Math is uh not exactly my strong point. (I have a tendency to flip numbers if I'm not paying attention.)

Re: 5/31 Cain AMPS 110 Ack a blue after all this time.

Jennifer, that is still a lovely blue, very close to green and considered to be in normal number range. I wouldn't worry about it just yet. This is his 6th dose after the reduction so there is likely no shed left. Let's see what the .5 units can do. Often the morning numbers are the last to come down, so I'll be curious to see what his PMPS is like. And, there is no NDW going down, only going up. So to answer your question, he's probably just being a cat. :-D

I believe there are some other people in LL using calipers with the Relion syringes. You could always ask what people are using for a 1 U measurement but it's really more important that you be consistent with what you've been doing and calipers will help do that. I'm using BD's with calipers and the markings on the syringe mean that my 1 U is everywhere from .25 U to .75 U according to the markings. It doesn't matter, I'm still measuring the same amount of insulin in the syringe each time.

Back in green territory.

@Wendy - Figures. Cats are just so cats sometimes. :-D Ah, so it's going up with NDW and not down. Gotcha. Yeah we'll have to see what PMPS he throws me tonight. I didn't realize the morning PS's are the last to come down. Good to know. :D

I'm trying to make sure I'm on that .5u marker on these syringes. I do see that there is some variance on where that top marker is. It isn't much of a difference but it might be enough.

Hmm don't drop too low tonight, Cain. I'm going to be out of the house for a while. At least till tonight. Parents are out right now but I have some semi-frozen meatsicles to give them. (Forgot till like twenty minutes ago.) If they're back before I get back, I'll have my dad feed them.

Btw, thanks Wendy. I think most of the time I need someone else to look at my SS and see what he's doing. :)

I guess he coasted fine while I was out. Most of the little meatsicles I left were gone. No idea which cat ate them but hopefully both of them ate enough. I've been trying out some of their freeze dried chicken treats on the top a bit to see if they'll eat a little of them.
