Update later. BTW I made up pasta, young girl didn’t have American name for it. Then she has three tiny gray kittens probably 2 weeks old [no mommy! hunting and became hunted]. They think they have 11 cats total right now. Very different from how our FDMB friends think of their feline pets and companions.

looks like I will be testing and feeding, closely monitoring today. I will use my 11% MC. should I give a pinch with her +2 snack?

32 years ago we bought a house abutting a national forest that came pre-stocked with semi-ferel cats - then they started having kittens & including mine, we were up to about 14 or 15. I managed to find homes for all but kept the first litter of 4. Got them fixed, vaccinated and built a heated cat house for them to hang out in at night. My neighbors all have barns & who knows how many cats they've gone through, the unfixed toms are especially troublesome. I think I was a good influence on them though because over the years, they've both settled on one or two cats got them fixed & feed on the regular. One is finally getting hers in at night. They're like, wow, the cats actually stick around, and I'm like, no, they're just not turning into bobcat & coyote food. That said, I def notice a difference in the mouse population when the cats are allowed some outside time.

I too appreciate the reduction in population of field mice, moles, gophers, ground squirrels BUT always concerned about the safety of these “hunter” kitties. We have a barn kitty ‍⬛ Annie, Annie, Oakley who we adopted as a feral barn kitty from Tenth Life Foundation Rescue group out of SanFrancisco Bay Area in 2011. Annie was captured in Oakland, approx 4 yrs of age, completely feral and up for euthanasia. We got her to help control RAT population, destroying my horse hay. However her daddy felt she needed all the creature comforts of home. He cut small hole in door just big enough for her to enter, built a ramp to rafters, insulated her area…
Those nasty wood rats think her habitat is great!. They climb in her bed and stare at me. Shivers down the spine, eat her cat food. But this girl has survived. She communicates with my husband with low guttural sounds and blinkey eyes. She looks shiny and healthy. He feeds twice daily. We have only touched her once when the rescue people brought her here. If we had to evacuate for fire, no chance of capturing her [she escaped the barn first day she arrived]. We enjoy seeing her and she recognizes the truck. Her life is better than the alternative and she is Leary savvy of her surroundings. Over the years visiting cats have gone into the barn to partake of her food and water. This is her life for 11 years.
Our neighbors are wonderful people. They are learning the culture of the US., while they admit animals and pets are not treated in China as we choose to here. They don’t kiss, hug, snuggle or allow their animals in the house ever. Their daughters come to visit so we can “play” with the dogs and cats inside our home. Works out.

Fingers crossed we don’t see a dive tonight! Uncertain whether to give a pinch of 11% with +2 snack or feed the curve depending on test at +4. ???

below are my two morning visitors. Cute and happy wherever. Took to inside like a duck to water.
PS. I keep posting pictures, practicing how to do this. 2 months ago, I didn’t even know how to refresh browser, right Bhooma and Elise. Thanks a million!

Looks like I just saw the frown portion of the Levemir curve, PMPS then rise to +3 before drop? No onset yet?

Probably heading up. How about a test at +6 or +7?

thanks Bhooma. Have set alarm and will test @+7. Above is post Heng just sent me of the other 3 baby kitties. We had a bit of scare with one and had to revive/rehydrate with sugar water. Babies that young can go down so fast especially without a mom cat. When I took the two older kitties back this morning, I found the middle one barely there with weak mews. Heng has been feeding with syringe every 2 hours so it may make it. Fingers crossed.
