TGIF...even better without students!!!!!

WCR: All Ps in place. Got snuggles at bedtime, but not this morning. However, she was in a strange mood this morning. She wasn't very chatty until I was getting her breffis ready and then she yowled at me?! What?! Where did that come from...Miss I'm-not-hungry-and-keep-pissing-you-off-because-I-won't-eat-my-fuds-unless-it's-the-bad-stuff-with-gravy-in-it!  AND THEN, lo and behold, SHE ATE her breffis. Not quite CPC, but 90% devoured AND I didn't have to add any Friskies!!! (+1 is a definite fuds spike!) Afterwards, she spent some quality time in the LB, leaving both the pee and poo prezzies (she missed out on the poo prezzies yesterday, so I know this feels good.) I'm hoping this wasn't a fluke feeding. I hate when she doesn't eat. I'm really started to wonder if this is pancreatitis.

Does anyone know...if left untreated, can pancreatitis "go away"? I wondered this the last time she had appy issues and then she started feeling better and her appy got better. I know that I should take her in to the vet's, but again, with her disposition, it's easier said than done. :-|

OT: I'm headed into work and so excited that there are no students to deal with today. Well, I actually have 5 hours worth of voice lessons scheduled for my friend, so I will have students coming in and out today, but these are great kids and they are there for lessons...not me! :-D Also, I have a few errands to run...need to take a tux to the dry cleaners because one of my students dropped the ball on this one and drop off some canned fuds to the local animal shelter. I got so into Shasta's diabetes and canned fuds that I bought a ton of it at the beginning for those "just in case" moments and they are nearing (or slightly past) their expiration dates. I hope they can still use them. I'm hoping they can use the dasequin, too. I think I used 4 capsules with Shasta before switching back to cosequin.

Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

Shasta must have decided to give you a break today and eat her fuds and give you lb prezzies. Good girl. I have no idea on the ptitis. Tarragon has had it twice and ended up in the ER with it, but there are other instances I can think of that it seems like he was on the brink and it didn't get worse.

Have a great day! Sounds like a busy one.

Thanks, Melissa! I think Shasta just knew that I wasn't in a hurry to get to school and that's why she ate well! Little stinker! :-D

Hi Deborah,

Sounds like you still have a busy day ahead of you. It's so nice that Shasta is eating better today and I'm not sure about the pancreatitis. Pixie suffers with this condition and it seems to come and go however I'm getting better at recognizing his symptoms and now I treat right away. A day of treatment seems to work now for Pixie but I have to be honest - his pancreatitis flare ups are less severe because his numbers are lower. When Pixie was in the reds and blacks, we just couldn't seem to stay on top of all his symptoms.

I do hope Shasta isn't suffering with pancreatitis - it can really make them sick and painful. Take care Deborah and Shasta!

Morning Deborah ~O) ~O) ~O)

Too fun with fuds, and the mood. Keep that appy coming Shasta!

I often wonder on the p'titis. I think they can have very mild flares that come and go, ones that would affect appy, BG's etc. and that alot of these times these mil flares go undiagnosed. just imho.

Busy day for you! I hope all goes well. Enjoy!!

I'm glad Shasta ate for you. I hope that continues. I don't know about the p'titis.

There really isn't a treatment that gets rid of pancreatitis. All we do is treat the symptoms -- bupe for pain, Pepsid to settle an upset tummy, etc. Since it's an inflammation, antibiotics don't help. If it's really bad, a steroid (prednisone) may help with the inflammation. Appetite stimulants are sometimes used if a kitty isn't eating.

It looks like Shasta is back in the blues this evening. What a good girl!!
