The depot should be drained so now I should learn if the shaved dose will work for Max this time. He does seem to like the Mauri kangaroo so far. I learned that it is .96 phosphorus for those interested in that. He has eaten one 3 oz can over the course of a few days. None of the other flavors are low phosphorus because they contain bone. Someone posted the results on another list. Remember that if you are considering it as a novel protein you don't want to give it with other proteins or you defeat the purpose. I was just interested as a lower phosphorus better quality food for Max.

Prayers and vines for all in need with the usual extras for Tricia's 4, Amy's DF, Marje and Mike, those ending trials and those not feeling well, beans and pets alike.

Paws crossed on the reduction. I'm glad he ate and I hope his appetite keeps up for you. I'm glad you found a good food...I need to check that one out!

Could I ask a favor please? Could you put his current dose on his SS with the caliper measurement? Since we all probsbly have a different caliper measurement for a dose, it's hard to tell what the dose is. Even if you just put it where you first reduce (like you did on 4/29 AMPS), that helps. Thanks, Elise.

Sending prayers for your mom and thanks for the well wishes for us. Mike is back at work and I'm doing better.

Will do Marje. The reason I left it out is because I ran out of ideas on what to call it. I adjust for bubbles and when I decrease by tiny amounts it's hard to name. I'll give it a name though in units.

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm glad you both are well again.

As for the food, I haven't found a place to buy it in Los Angeles though the rep said he would reach out to a specialty pet food store if I want to get them to special order it. I think it will be too expensive as an exclusive food but perhaps part of the rotation. I was sent a 3 oz can which I used and a 6 oz so by the time I finish the larger one should know if Max really likes it enough to order some. I have samples of all the other flavors but they are not lower phosphorus. I'll probably try them each just to see the reaction should I ever need a true novel protein.

Another nickname for Mr. Unpredictable. Brat. He didn't eat while I was out but did after I came back and tested. There wasn't a lot left out though. He then called me for more while I was in the other room so of course I complied with his request but of course so far he's not interested in the ff chicken. :banghead: That's fine. He doesn't need more food. But why did he ask for it?

Thanks Rhiannon. We cross posted.

Looks like the reducie is a good one...for now. C'mon, Max. Let's hang on to this dose for a while, okay?

Very interesting about the kangaroo. I wonder if I dare try it with my sensitive tummy crowd?

For now is right. I'm just not confident he can hold them for long and spend enough time under 120. Kangaroo is supposed to be a good one I think. I was afraid to try it as well since Max had a pancreatitis episode so recently. I fave him so little at a time and he seemed to handle it. Do they sell Mauri near you? Maybe try just one can in tiny amounts like I did. I was surprised Max would eat it. He wouldn't eat Instinct, Evo, or most canned premium foods I have tried.

Thanks for visiting Laura, Marilyn, Bron.

Very nice numbers! And good news he's still liking the kangaroo. That protein always gets two paws up here. And it's a lean meat so fairly low calorie.

I was going to say that kangaroo meat is lean but Wendy beat me to it. :)
On the raw kangaroo I buy they say it has 1% fat so would not hurt a cat with pancreatitis I am sure..Sheba is prone to pancreatitis and she eats some kangaroo every day. Also the calorie count is 100calories per 100grams and has approx 21 grams protein per 100grams meat

I'll start giving Max a little of the other can of kangaroo and see if he still likes it. I found a couple sites that sell it but it turned out neither will ship it. One that might is out of stock. I find this strange. The one that sells it Rayne, it for sure is out of the low fat for another month or two and I don't know if Max will like that brand. If he still likes the second can I'll go to plan B and talk to a few specialty pet food stores about special ordering it and what it would cost.

I was surprised to see he didn't get a food spike tonight. No bubbles in the syringe. I thought I compensated for that but who knows.

Thanks for visiting everyone!

Rayne (a company about 15 minutes drive from me) is moving the manufacturing of their wet food (kangaroo) to Australia.

Surf well tonight Max.
