Good morning

Thank you everyone for helping us last night. Gus was 103 @AMPS. We did experiment with the drop size as @Chris & China suggested and this morning we injected the drop created by vacuum really the smallest we could get. I am crossing my fingers.

Elizabeth, it may be that he would improve on a little higher carbs. 0% carbs isn't necessarily better and we've had quite a few cats with improved cycles when they get some carbs. If I were you, I'd try increasing to maybe 5% carbs and see if that doesn't let you get enough insulin in for long enough to flatten out those higher numbers.

Also at this phase that he's in, you might try giving him small frequent meals throughout the cycle to see if that will flatten out his numbers.

Gus is not eating well and most foods that we tried he want eat. I went to the pet shop with dr. Lisa's list and got all appropriate foods. He refused most EVO, raw instinct and many more. After lot of experimentation we concluded that he will only eat tuna and it has to have specific texture, no pate no big chunks but little finer than FF. He really likes Tiki Cat Ahi Tuna with prawns in tuna consomme and baby food fed with a spoon. He also eats pumpkin pure to prevent constipation. Up until last week we had buffet with so many different foods with low carb but Gus was not eating much of any particular food. I also tried to pure little bit of Merreck 18% into his 0% and it also got old. I use FortiFlora and treats crushed with his food and so many other tricks to just have him eating. We have this problem since we switched him from all you can eat premium dry food. With Tiki Cat we have more days that Gus eats well and while he is on insulin that is my goal. If you have any particular food that you can recommend and I haven't try it I would give it a try. I was looking for foods with novel protein but what was available in pet shop was to high in fat and that wouldn't be good for pancreatitis. I tried Wellness Core Turkey and Duck (57% fat) but Gus didn't like it to much and had belly problem.
