Morning L&L

Gave a dose increase this AM.

Two days ago we were surprised to see a scruffy Calico cat dart off the roof. Well yesterday I was knelt down sealing up under the metal at the top of the roof. This same Calico cat whom we named Mama kitty darted and and scared me to death. I kept working and I heard tiny meows thinking what kind of bird makes that sound, the closer I came to them it dawned on me this isn't a bird its kittens meowing. I could barley look and see up in under the metal how in the world did she fit up under there let alone give birth. I saw two maybe 1 to 2 week old kittens if not younger. As I meowed they came close enough for me to see the ears and a small amount of ones face.
I am not sure if we should interfere at all. I don't want the humane society to put them to death.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
DH is going back today to put food and water.

Have a great day!

I would think as long as the mama kitty keeps coming back to tend to the kittens, they would be fine. Otherwise, caring for kittens that young is a 24/7 endeavor.

I agree with Sienna that as long as the mama cat is attending to them, I'd leave them for now. However, once they start moving around, I would be worried about them falling.

I would also try to get in touch with a local rescue group to see if they can offer help and/or suggestions....it would be wonderful to get them out of the overpopulation cycle by spaying/neutering, and with any luck, getting them into homes. Prayers for the Mama and her sweet babies!!

Work the juice Fritz!

I would leave some foid and water for momma, so she can take care of her babies. Try searching for feral or TNR (trap, neuter, release) rescue groups in your area. The humane society likely knows who they are too. We have a wonderful rescue group here with a network of foster people willing to do the intense care needed for new kittens.
