I just realized that I'm not giving .8U with the U-100 syringes, since I'm drawing to 1.5U. No wonder he's not going down!!

So, last night at PMPS, he did get .8U, but this morning and tonight he only got .6U. I'm hoping I can bump him to 1U on Sunday, if his numbers stay high.

Re: 5/30 Chuck 509 AMPS; 334 +2

For whatever reason, those big drops seem to be "normal" for Chuck. He ranges between a 65-75% drop consistently...

Re: 5/30 Chuck 509 AMPS; 334 +2; 254 +3

With another drop an hour later... He did eat pretty good at +3...

Should I go back to free feeding, leaving out frozen cubes during the day? On Lantus, we switched from free feeding to mini-meals an hour apart, because the free feeding wasn't doing the trick. Guess it can't hurt to try, right?

Lots of cats do well with free feeding; others do better with two meals a day. I'd try free feeding for a while and see if he levels off.

Since the restart and insulin switch you will have to do some more liver training and will probably see some bouncing from lower numbers again. But he should adjust pretty quickly since he's seen lower numbers before.

I hung the conversion chart on the side of the fridge where I drew up the insulin so I could check it once before I drew it up and check it again when it was drawn.

Tomorrow is another day.

I have Baxter's conversion chart & sliding scale typed on the same piece of paper. I keep it next to his BG record book.

We all have ugghh days. Tomorrow is a new day. ;-)
