He's been a little flat. And we had some excitement this am when the garbage truck decided to come down our street at 7am instead of the usual 11am. Everyone (including me) was rushing to get the trash out!

Trash day for me is loading up my car with the recycles and trash and driving to the transfer station. So trash time is whenever I get my butt in gear.

well, we are flat again, or I should say I am getting almost the same number at night as I am during the day. Maybe that is good, who knows? I am staying home Saturday for him (gave my shift away) and got a message from the vet today. he feels the curve is a little high and if it remains the same for the next couple of days to increase to 1.5.

With 3 full day / 6 shots at the same level, and nadirs above 150, it would be safe then to increase. Can you get a mid-cycle test around +6?

So I got up at 12:30 this morning to test him at +6.5 and got a 223. His last meal was at 9pm where he had his snack, probably about 2 TBSN maybe a little bit more.

The problem with getting up in the middle of the night is that I can't go back to sleep and I need my sleep, working 2 jobs. I fell back to sleep between 2-2:30, and that is bad.

You don't need to do that every night. When you can, it helps check for the nadir, that lowest point which lets you know if the dose could be increased or should be decreased. Also, in terms of human sleep, waking up on a multiple of about 45 minutes makes it easier to wake - ex 6 hours after going to sleep, 6 hours 45 minutes, 7 hours 30minutes, etc.

That mid-cycle, near nadir reading suggests you could safely increase another 0.25 units. Also note that Levemer tends to have a later nadir, sometimes even as late as right before pre-shot, depending on the cat, so checking later in the cycle may be most helpful to you, when you can squeeze it in.

As I lay in bed, wide awake, watching HP & the order of the Phoenix...I thought I should have done this tonight instead, since I took off tomorrow. I will probably do that, knowing I can take a cat nap tomorrow if needed!

Vet agrees, that if his number remain the same after tomorrow's curve, to up him another 1/4 unit on Sunday...thx for your thoughts!
