Good morning! I increased back up to 2.25 this am. Will see how she will do on 2.25 this time around. I dont know if I need patience pants or unpatience pants anymore! :? Off to work and mom on board and will call me with #s. Have a great Friday everyone!

Hi Laura,

I sense your frustration with getting the right dose - it looks like you've gone back and forth between 2 and 2.5 for a while now. I wish I had more experience in order to advise you about dosing but alas, not yet. I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to have some of the more experienced people look at your spreadsheet to get a sense of the problem. Just a thought!

Thanks Anne! I have been back and forth with the 2.0/ 2.25 lately, and maybe its just me thinking if she goes too low, my mom wont be able to handle it while Im at work. I always am afraid when I increase. She has said yesterday, if she goes too low, she wont/cant test every 20 min. She has no clue how lantus works and is always saying the numbers confuse her. She said she thought the lower the better, even when she tested 31 once, mom had no clue that was dangerous. Im lucky shes even testing her..she loathes it..She is frustrated that chi chi isnt stable and coming down consistently. Poor mom..I am just worried that chi chi wont go into remission because of this. I am never home during the day except Tues. I have had to leave work 25 min away several times when chi chi went low, and I panicked because I was afraid mom wouldnt be able to get test done evry 20 min. Ok..enough of my worries. I wish you and your fur baby well Anne!

Good luck with the new dose. Maybe she didn't get much lower than that 90 the other morning so wasn't really ready for the reduction this time.

If ChiChi looks like she might be going lower before you leave for work, you can always get your mom to feed her some higher carb food during the day to keep her safer. People who don't have someone like your mom testing have to leave out higher carb food if they are worried about the numbers.
