I'm home today, trying to slog through a long list of phone calls and other things, so Max is getting a curve done today. He's doing well. Lowest amps he's had yet, and it appears he's enjoying the greens now without bouncing. Going to keep me on my toes through the weekend hoping to catch the mid-cycle numbers to be sure he's not bottoming out.

So far (because it's a lot to put in a thread title), we started at 190, then 169, 90, and 68, testing every 2 hours.

I hope all the kitties are doing well today. It's Friday!

I know, right? His personality has been showing itself again, though he still is an old man and sleeps most of the time these days. He's currently working on wedging himself between me and the laptop...

In a different thread I made a comment about it taking a while for him to settle into his dose and the Lantus, and then I went back and actually checked the spreadsheet. We've only been on Lantus for 3 weeks. And he's gained a pound in that time too. :D Utterly amazing all around. I'm still not daring to hope for a second remission, I'll be more than happy with a stable dose and relatively flat curves...now I'm just hoping we get him settled before I'm out of town at the end of the month. I'm going to have to start bugging my husband this weekend to re-learn to test him because I'll be gone for 5 days. I probably won't get more than preshot tests, but I can't just let him shoot blind for that long. And we're going to all be out of town for 3 days the weekend prior, during which my mom will be giving shots without testing. Definitely going to be a challenging week! :nailbiting:

Well, lots of updates here...

+8 66 and +9 (because I'm stupid and didn't read the clock right) 79 He is cruising the greens like he owns them! :D

Also, I just got off the phone with the vet. When we were there the other day she and I had discussed arthritis medication, and had settled on baby aspirin, but thanks to a suggestion from here, I emailed Max's SS (she had asked me to) and asked about Adequan for him. She loved that idea (don't know why she didn't think of it before) and said she's had some dogs and cats with awesome results from it, and that it shouldn't bother his kidneys. So now I get to order that online and give it to him when it arrives. :) Yay!
