Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday, and a great week. It has been odd not to be doing a daily condo, but the time off has made things run a little smoother here. I've still been reading subject lines, trying to keep up with LL. ;-) . With the Board being so up and down and offline, and being unable to get in alot of the times, my condo visits have had to be a little sporadic. They days with the boys have been good ones! We have been very busy, that part of life has not changed. Yesterday, like all Fridays, was very much a water day, what with swimming in the morning, and swimming again in the evening. BUSY!!!!  Swimming was as good as it always is. The energizer fishie was in his element, and continues to have a great time in the pool. That swim test continues to be elusive.... one of these days we will get that done! I've been teaching him what I can. He continues to swim two, sometimes more, widths of the pool on his own again yesterday. We are starting to get some "big arms" swim in, which is kinda cool. He's been trying to swim on his back too. LOL: might make a swimmer after all. :-D  Wednesday's swim was also a good one, many many swims under the surface! He still looks forward to our after swim Friday Night Burger Feast too. That is just so fun: burgers and fries, in the car, just him and me, with lots of fun stories. I still love that drive from the pool to his house: 30 minutes of little guy stories, my little back seat driver! Quite the imagination he has. He tells stories, we continue to look for rainbows and sunsets and views of Seattle. Great drive home! The sunset was gorgeous last night. :-D

Our weather the past few days has been unseasonable warm, and very very nice. We have been in the 80's, unheard of in the PNW in May. I've been trying to take advantage of that, and take the boys out as much as I can. Thursday we went to the rivers up near Stevens Pass: Beckler River, and the Skykomish River Near Gold Bar. We do the Gold Bar location alot, as it is accessible in the winter. Beckler River however is not, so it was so awesome to be able to take the boys up there again. Nicholas did remember it, had the best of times while we were there. He has learned to be respectful of the river, take care of what he sees, and also respect the speed of the river. He explored alot on his own, and would ask and question new spots before venturing in. I can trust that he will be safe there. He is so fun: had to have his beach buckets with him so we did. He spent some time at both spots making lakes and creeks that fed into the river, all the while being respectful of the wild nature of the place. William is proving to be as much of a river rat as his big brother. I can remember with Nicholas how I had to hold onto his britches, during his crawling stage, to keep him from going too far into the river. it is the same with William. He LOVES being there. The Skykomish River at Gold Bar was as wonderful as it always is. It was so nice that Nicholas was able to go shirtless. Too funny, but he thought it was so cool to be able to do that. River day proved to be an all day thing. What an awesome time!

Wednesday afternoon we spent at Juanita Beach, another one of Nichoals's fav places. It was so warm that day that Nicholas was able to wade out into the water, swim a little, just really enjoy the nice beach area that Juanita has. He had the best of times. Up to his waist in the water, splashing and running, in and out with the buckets, making more lakes and creeks. William went in a little too, came out soaked and dirty and smiling the biggest smile ever. :-D   It will be so cool when he is a bit more mobile and can play along side his brother. Yesterday afternoon we went back to a park we started visiting a few weeks ago: Meadowdale Park. They have such nice playground equipment, and that really fun zip line. Nicholas found a new playmate there, Dylan, so those two enjoyed the fun of zip-lining together. Weatehr continues to be good, a bit c0oler at 70, but still good enough that we had a picnic on the grass while there. What a great time!

William and Nicholas continue to be the best of buddies. They both adore each other. William has definitely discovered that his brother has better lunches, and breffis's, than he does, and will let you know when he'd rather have a milkshakes that just milk, or the PBJ sandwich and not pureed veggies.  So we have been gradually introducing him to big boy foods. He, like his brother is a huge fan of berries, especially raspberries. And burgers? Bring 'em on! LOL: so hard to get baby size non choke-able bites of a burger. They both have been doing great!

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   What to say about the kitties.... They have been good kitties, and even Lola! Well sorta on Lola... Lola will always be Lola. Crazy fun Lola. When I got home last night I watched the usual Friday night run and romp. That is so fun to watch, and so what goes down here on FR nights. Elsa just watches, trying to decide if she wants to run too. We ahve been, lately, getting her to join in on one of the romps. She runs once, maybe twice, chasing Bug down the hall. Not too bad for my senior gal.  This is about the only time I can ever get her to run like that. It is nice to see once in a while. There was nothing amiss when I got home, just kitties waiting at the top of the stairs. Just as it always is. LOVE THAT! Lola was rolling on the stairs, Bug was pacing, and Elsa was just sitting with that stare: where have you been? Definitely a normal Friday night for the kitties. I get a few meows, some leg rubs, they get scritches in return, and then off they go. I had remembered (  ) to feed them early before heading off to the PM swim time with Nicholas, so there was no worry over them producing that "blood oath", they had full bellies and were content... Lola has been fairly good, no plant issues, no torn papers, boxes remain intact. Today is shopping day so she will get a new paper bag.  No doubt that will make her day. She has been trying SO HARD to get outside during our warmer days, she runs from window to window hoping maybe those screen have disappeared.  Bug continues no warm up to company more and more as the days go by. Sure is nice to see that. :-D Elsa is still dong well, darn active for an almost 18 year old. She sleeps alot, but what the heck: part of being a cat. Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Have a great day everyone! I am off to get those chores done, do my laundry, fill the kitty pantry, and try and relax some. The rains are returning today, later in the afternoon, so once again I hope to get out on a through the woods to the shore walk. YAHOO!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

It's nice you've had such warm weather to take advantage of with the boys. Things will be so much fun when William is a little older and can explore more with Nicholas. I love hearing all the kitties are still up their usual antics. I'm sure Lola will have a blast with the bags. I hope you get out for a walk today.

Re: 5/3 LOOSE LIPS: Pools, rivers, and parks! HAPPY CATURDAY

Morning Anne! ~O) ~O) ~O) and :-D Enjoy that peppermint! It is so nice to be able to say all is normal in MusketeerVille!

Morning Carla ~O) ~O) ~O) The weather has been so great - not normal - but none of us are complaining, We are back to the winds and showers and sloppiness today. The boys sure did enjoy it. I cannot agree more on William. Give him a year and he will be right up there with big bro. Yupp, Lola loved the bags, tore up tow more, paper shreds flying. THX on today, I hope I can too, just waiting on a little bit of a weather break....

Re: 5/3 LOOSE LIPS: Pools, rivers, and parks! HAPPY CATURDAY

Good to see a loose Lips today! Tess wants me to order some extra pies, she's had a good appy lately. I think she knows Izzy is on a diet and wants to rub it in!

That sounds like great progress for Nicholas in the pool. When he finally takes the test and starts lessons will you be bringing William to the pool too? When can he start to go in?

I'm not surprised you have created another river rat! Just llok at thier role model! ;-)

Re: 5/3 LOOSE LIPS: Pools, rivers, and parks! HAPPY CATURDAY

Hi Ann - THX! I had time today, fancy that. I really kinda miss doing them, but knew too that something had to give... LOL, and tell Tess that the pies are one their way, Lola will be delivering, so best watch for her so that she and Emma don't get into trouble. ;-) oh no - i diet for Izzy? That reminds me of BJ - she was on one for a while too... Yes on Nicholas and William. I am anxious to get William in the pool. The few times he has been he has really enjoyed it. Nicholas will be going, in the fall, to a preschool type program, for two hours, a couple of mornings a week, two, so during that time I will start with William, and get him used to what goes on there. When Nicholas finally does get into lessons, I will bring both boys together. Or so I hope. oh too funny, but row than likely true, on the river rat. I do love 'em!

Re: 5/3 LOOSE LIPS: Pools, rivers, and parks! HAPPY CATURDAY

Morning everyone. It is nice to see the Board up and running this morning. I had such issues last night trying to post anything, and finally gave up. We had a decent day yesterday, lots of errands, but I also managed an out and about in between rainy downpours. What happened to our sunny 70-80 weather? Sure not this week, more like 50-60 cool and WET. The hike/walk yesterday was really nice. The woods and the neighborhood are loaded with lots in full bloom - the flowers are very pretty right now. The lilacs, wisteria and the rhodys are in full bloom. :-D :-D :-D Kitties are doing well. Lola had been behaving herself, busy being Lola too. With the return of the cool wet weather they are all camped out in their beds this morning. Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Enjoy your day everyone. :-D

Re: 5/3 LOOSE LIPS: Pools, rivers, and parks! HAPPY CATURDAY

I certainly hope your weather is better than it is here....  WET & RAINY comes to mind.... ;-) But I did make it our for a walk, in between downpours, hoping I could stay dry. OH SURE!       Wasn't happening. It was a nice hike though, there is some tree cover so all in all, not too bad. The Amtrak North Cascades train went through. I always love to see that train. It so reminds me of Mannie and his adventures: he always had the kitties on that train. Hey Ollie! The conductor still needs you to mess with his whistle... The shore was wet, blistery and just rainy... but I still loved it. The trail too was WET WET WET, but nice to see how rain can change how things look. All was a-glistening. :-D It's been a great morning...

Now off to visit condos,. YaHOO!

Re: 5/3 LOOSE LIPS: Pools, rivers, and parks! HAPPY CATURDAY

Hi Michelle,
Finally I can get to your condo to see all the great pics of the boys, the rivers, the shore, the flowers, and to hear what you have been up to all week. Sounds like a non-stop week, all right! The Beckler River looks magnificent and I can well understand why Nicholas likes it there so much--it really looks wild. Soon William will be able to explore right along with his brother. Good luck with getting Nicholas to take the swim test!

We are heading to NYC tomorrow and Rusty wants to make sure that Elsa, Bug and Lola come on the trip. We'll do all the usual activities.

Enjoy the up-coming week and give lots of scritches to the kitties,

Hugs,

Ella & Rusty

Thanks for the visits.

Re: 5/3 LOOSE LIPS: Pools, rivers, and parks! HAPPY CATURDAY

Hi Ella ~O) THX, all was awesome, and yes, a very non-stop busy week! I LOVE Beckler River - it is gorgeous there, and part Wilderness for sure. Another 12 miles in takes us to Jack's Pass, another one of Nicholas's fav places. That though still has snow, so we have to wait a bit longer before we can go. I think so too on William. He loved being there, was very content on playing in his own spot without needing to be played with. it will be fun when they can explore together. hey, thx on that elusive swim test!
Auntie Ella! We are READY! All of us! bags are packed, pizza makings ready to go too! Tell Rusty we will be there, for sure! ~~ Elsa, kitteh Barista
