Good Morning LL!!
(Ahhhhhh.... elixir! Thanks Elsa), and Happy Catmint Caturday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Paw Prints Pizza is open and ready for business! They are running a Caturday Catnip special today, in honor of Catmint Caturday - lots of nip in those pies! They have even used their signature nip cheese.
Best order early! They gots new pizza ovens yesterday, and so far... they been good! They are the brick oven kind, mega cool! Lola and Bug say that they makes excellent nip crust. so. well. anyways.
Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... It is my bean's fav! SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of peppermint and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, sprinkled with peppermint chips and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!
I hope everyone had a great day yesterday, and a great week. It has been odd not to be doing a daily condo, but the time off has made things run a little smoother here. I've still been reading subject lines, trying to keep up with LL. ;-) . With the Board being so up and down and offline, and being unable to get in alot of the times, my condo visits have had to be a little sporadic. They days with the boys have been good ones! We have been very busy, that part of life has not changed. Yesterday, like all Fridays, was very much a water day, what with swimming in the morning, and swimming again in the evening. BUSY!!!!  Swimming was as good as it always is. The energizer fishie was in his element, and continues to have a great time in the pool. That swim test continues to be elusive.... one of these days we will get that done! I've been teaching him what I can. He continues to swim two, sometimes more, widths of the pool on his own again yesterday. We are starting to get some "big arms" swim in, which is kinda cool. He's been trying to swim on his back too. LOL: might make a swimmer after all.
Wednesday's swim was also a good one, many many swims under the surface! He still looks forward to our after swim Friday Night Burger Feast too. That is just so fun: burgers and fries, in the car, just him and me, with lots of fun stories. I still love that drive from the pool to his house: 30 minutes of little guy stories, my little back seat driver! Quite the imagination he has. He tells stories, we continue to look for rainbows and sunsets and views of Seattle. Great drive home! The sunset was gorgeous last night.
Our weather the past few days has been unseasonable warm, and very very nice. We have been in the 80's, unheard of in the PNW in May. I've been trying to take advantage of that, and take the boys out as much as I can. Thursday we went to the rivers up near Stevens Pass: Beckler River, and the Skykomish River Near Gold Bar. We do the Gold Bar location alot, as it is accessible in the winter. Beckler River however is not, so it was so awesome to be able to take the boys up there again. Nicholas did remember it, had the best of times while we were there. He has learned to be respectful of the river, take care of what he sees, and also respect the speed of the river. He explored alot on his own, and would ask and question new spots before venturing in. I can trust that he will be safe there. He is so fun: had to have his beach buckets with him so we did. He spent some time at both spots making lakes and creeks that fed into the river, all the while being respectful of the wild nature of the place. William is proving to be as much of a river rat as his big brother. I can remember with Nicholas how I had to hold onto his britches, during his crawling stage, to keep him from going too far into the river. it is the same with William. He LOVES being there. The Skykomish River at Gold Bar was as wonderful as it always is. It was so nice that Nicholas was able to go shirtless. Too funny, but he thought it was so cool to be able to do that. River day proved to be an all day thing. What an awesome time!
Wednesday afternoon we spent at Juanita Beach, another one of Nichoals's fav places. It was so warm that day that Nicholas was able to wade out into the water, swim a little, just really enjoy the nice beach area that Juanita has. He had the best of times. Up to his waist in the water, splashing and running, in and out with the buckets, making more lakes and creeks. William went in a little too, came out soaked and dirty and smiling the biggest smile ever.
It will be so cool when he is a bit more mobile and can play along side his brother. Yesterday afternoon we went back to a park we started visiting a few weeks ago: Meadowdale Park. They have such nice playground equipment, and that really fun zip line. Nicholas found a new playmate there, Dylan, so those two enjoyed the fun of zip-lining together. Weatehr continues to be good, a bit c0oler at 70, but still good enough that we had a picnic on the grass while there. What a great time!
William and Nicholas continue to be the best of buddies. They both adore each other. William has definitely discovered that his brother has better lunches, and breffis's, than he does, and will let you know when he'd rather have a milkshakes that just milk, or the PBJ sandwich and not pureed veggies.  So we have been gradually introducing him to big boy foods. He, like his brother is a huge fan of berries, especially raspberries. And burgers? Bring 'em on! LOL: so hard to get baby size non choke-able bites of a burger. They both have been doing great!
Normalcy in MusketeerVille!
What to say about the kitties.... They have been good kitties, and even Lola! Well sorta on Lola... Lola will always be Lola. Crazy fun Lola. When I got home last night I watched the usual Friday night run and romp. That is so fun to watch, and so what goes down here on FR nights. Elsa just watches, trying to decide if she wants to run too. We ahve been, lately, getting her to join in on one of the romps. She runs once, maybe twice, chasing Bug down the hall. Not too bad for my senior gal.  This is about the only time I can ever get her to run like that. It is nice to see once in a while. There was nothing amiss when I got home, just kitties waiting at the top of the stairs. Just as it always is. LOVE THAT! Lola was rolling on the stairs, Bug was pacing, and Elsa was just sitting with that stare: where have you been? Definitely a normal Friday night for the kitties. I get a few meows, some leg rubs, they get scritches in return, and then off they go. I had remembered (  ) to feed them early before heading off to the PM swim time with Nicholas, so there was no worry over them producing that "blood oath", they had full bellies and were content... Lola has been fairly good, no plant issues, no torn papers, boxes remain intact. Today is shopping day so she will get a new paper bag.  No doubt that will make her day. She has been trying SO HARD to get outside during our warmer days, she runs from window to window hoping maybe those screen have disappeared.  Bug continues no warm up to company more and more as the days go by. Sure is nice to see that.
Elsa is still dong well, darn active for an almost 18 year old. She sleeps alot, but what the heck: part of being a cat. Normalcy in MusketeerVille!
Have a great day everyone! I am off to get those chores done, do my laundry, fill the kitty pantry, and try and relax some. The rains are returning today, later in the afternoon, so once again I hope to get out on a through the woods to the shore walk. YAHOO!
