The BF and I have a bet.

I'm pretty certain he is going to figure out how to break in....hes too painfully intelligent. Hence why I have a few contingencies ready to go to macgyver it based on how he breaks in.

The bet is on if he will just break it beyond repair if he decides he doesn't feel like waiting.

Try not to get frustrated with the ugly numbers. He's very new to insulin and he'll get there. Most kitties go through this phase and then hit the magic dose.

Soooo, we've had a few auto-feeder break-in's....some beyond repair like Miss @Osha kitty and our beloved Captain Jack but @saltycat got creative by building a wooden box around it I believe.

Yes, my Osha could easily open it. I had to duct tape it closed each time. I started with packing tape and she could get through that. Then I went to duct tape. After that she started dragging it around the house and broke both of her canines. :stop:o_O Needless to say, I no longer use the feeder.

Hang in there with the numbers. I know it is super discouraging, but you will eventually get into better numbers. :bighug:

My bet is that he won't destroy it. Part of him being so smart, is that he loves his puzzles and toys. Its actually pretty rare for him to break anything. The things that get destroyed are things that he knocks off tables to get our attention or things that get in his way (like doors when he close them on him). But his toys he actually takes pretty good care of, in fact when my parents catsit during my honeymoon with the ex, my family dog chewed up his favorite mouse. He was so bent out of shape and pouting my mom stitched the tiny thing back together just to stop having such a mopey cat around.

If he breaks it, then it wont be a challenge anymore. Whereas if he just breaks -in- then it will become a battle of wits versus the two beans in the house which is farrrr more interesting!

Surprisingly, as far as I can tell, no break ins, no shenanigans, no destruction! It's a spring miracle!

(Or, he didn't know what it was this morning and lacked incentive to figure it out and tomorrow all heck is gonna break loose, lol)

Now off to go buy more litter, ugh.

Yeah, I use crystal litter, so I have been using chewy to get the fresh step crystal but lately one bag is only lasting a week (I had to switch from clay because even scooping every day they were still getting gross build up on their paws, plus Gizmo likes to play in his fountain or in the drippings after showers then do his business) and that was coming out to $60 a month. Petco has their brand of crystal's, 40 bucks for a 30 lb. bag (so roughly the same as 4 bags of fresh step) so I am giving them a try to see if I can at least scrimp a few bucks there. If not, back to chewy!

They did eat all the food today. Did not find all the treat mice, though we did make them a bit difficult today and it was pretty warm so I suspect they just snoozed a lot. The neighborhood cat is back and brought her boyfriend so Widget is busy defending the house while Gizmo tries to nap in the windowsill.
