Cats can bounce off blue as well as green, they bounce because it's a lower number than they are used to, or if they go down quickly. So it could be Rory is just reacting to the blues last night. Bounces can take up to 6 cycles to clear completely and it hasn't been that long since those lovely greens he had a couple of days ago. Paws crossed he'll be seeing some yellows soon today.

well Rory stayed pink all day up until PM then he dropped to yellow.. I still gave him a shot even though he went lower within 10 minutes and even ate in between the tests. I did my first keytones test today and it was negative .. I notice Rory keeps searching for food and I am hesitant to give him much because if he goes lower I have to give him carb food right?? I did give him a taste an hour ago so it would be easier

Congrats on the first ketones test! That's great that you can now test him. It's a good idea to try to do that whenever he's in higher numbers.

Rory may be breaking his bounce which is why he's going lower. It's more of an issue shooting dropping numbers if he's in the greens.

ya he just went back to blue.. how often should I check him? I just gave him a small spoon of hc fancy feast to slow him down a little.. it is early still from the shot

That's a big drop in the last hour. Could you put just your PM numbers in the subject line of your first post? That'll help us follow what's happening now.

I would definitely check him in an hour or maybe even less. Good call on the HC.

How are you feeding Rory? With cats that drop fast like that in the early of the cycle, it's often good to split up the food into mini meals at the beginning. For example, you could feed some at shot time, then more at +1, +2 and/or +3.

that is what I did.. I fed him just at shot time then a little each hour.. I will go check him now again then change the numbers in my subject after ..
