Yesterday was B O I N G day.... also known as bouncy kitty day.... well, expected I guess - hit the 50's the night before, alot of high carbs, and well - he always does this when he goes below 80. So I really can't say that yesterday was much of a surprise. I had just hoped we'd avoid that nasty nasty color. :? :? So... I will view it, the nasty nasty color, as a blip on the radar, and we start anew today. :-D :-D Right Mannie? Lost of really cool colors today? :cool: :cool: I knew I could count on you. Lubs ya big guy, even when you go visit the stratosphere. cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D Mannie is one happy dude this morning - he got through yesterday without any dematting. :cool: :cool: :lol: I hope he enjoyed his free day, cuz this afternoon we tackle his backside. :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: Now I KNOW there will be war for this one. No way to sooth the savage beast, as NO ONE is allowed to mess his his pom pom, aka, corkscrew, aka fluffy tailless rear end. At least these ones, the mats that is, are small.... but I SWEAR (!!!) that "tail" is the worse to even try to demat. Seems all those loose furs want to collect around that corkscrew formation. well - I have my armor in place :razz: , face guard ready :cool: , chest plate on stand-by :? , chain mail for the arms :shock: , and extra heavy duty gloves available if needed.... ;-) I am all set.... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: The the war begin! who knows - maybe he won't mind one bit. oh sure..... AT last the nanners will get a good workout afterwards. :lol: :lol: This morning we had a great test, shoot and clean plate club - AND the auto feeder still continues to be used by Mannie, and Elsa still thinks it has her name on it, and is ever so happy when he chooses to ignore it , which he did today - first one that is, yet again.... Some things just never change. Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Hey everybody What'd'ya wanna do today? I think we need a chillaxin' day today. I dunno.... or maybe we could go sailing again? We got sun here today, well sorta sun. Hmmmmmm..... I got these new hammocks and stuff with really cool pillows and fleeces and stuff. We could try them out too. Let me know - I am ready for anything! ~~ Mannie

Love the description of the detangling event. (hehe). Okay, so it's not funny to the one doing the detangling. Which reminds me, I gotta tackle Clancy's rear end today. All that long hair......oy!! First the sharp claws get clipped, he likes to grab my arms, with both little hands...

Hope you have a nice visit with Seattle friends.
I'm sure Mannie will surf beautifully, so you won't have to worry. (yeah right, don't worry) :-D

Morning Michelle ~O) ~O) ~O) yes, need lots of it, too! Bouncy day yesterday means nice surfing day today, right Mannie, some nice blues and safe greens, I bet! :-D I hope the dematting goes okay, and you have your armor ready. Have a great time visiting friends in Seattle and having coffee. I always enjoy getting out for coffee and lunch with friends.

Mannie, a chillaxin day sounds like fun and some sailing, too. Did you say hammocks and cool pillows and fleece, sounds great! I'll bring the niptunis.

I really hate doing his tail end - that one he really does resist, makes for a few battles. always with the long hair guys..... oy! is right!! and yeah on the arms. Seems like Blackie and Mannie were both wearing springs on their paws. I know that Blackie still is. :lol: Hoping for a nicer, more bluer surf for Mr. Mannie today, and every day. Have a wonderful day! *HUGS*

Hi guys .. well bummer on that unmentionable color yesterday .. but today is looking good! Well .. probably until the dematting begins! What you wear sounds like what I need for cutting twix's nails .. boy, what a nightmare! Hope you guys have a great day!

Hi Devon - Today is looking good. :-D a little flat, but hopefully that is an indication of good things to come. And yes on the dematting. Just did one, he as not pleased, but at least I didn't get the claws. :cool: We shall see how the rest go.... :shock:

Nice and flat today, Mannie knows you need a permission slip and not to worry about high numbers either. What a cat!

Good luck w/ the dematting! I'm glad you have all your armor ready, but i hope you don't need it.

Hi Ann - that he does - it always amazes me that he knows... doesn't make his move until he knows he can. Even with a 158 at +7, it is still a go: nice slow slide in the works. And oh yeah on the dematting. Two done so far with no issues. :-D :-D It is easier if I take one at a time - he's more apt to let me do my thing then. I so hate working on the "tail".....

Nice colours Mannie - good to see the return of the blue! Good boy.

Michelle - I'm watching to hear the final detangling report on the back end. Neko and I have decided that her tail very seldom needs combing (it's actually pretty good but definitely a no go zone). The pants are the issue that cause the fuss. Sometimes I can do a quick raking on the back while she is eating. Other than body armor :lol: :lol: which it sounds like you have in spades, do you use any particular brush/comb?

Hi Wendy - I use two combs: one is called the Zoom Zoom - and the other is just a regular combing comb: metal, gets the nitty gritty stuff. The Zoom Zoom is great in that is is very gentle and he really doesn't mind that one. Sometimes though it just doesn't work on the really thick ones, which he can produce in spades. ;-) My issue is that Mannie really doesn't have a tail - he's along haired Manx, and what is there is a small corkscrew - extremely difficult to keep all that hair from matting. He really protests when I go there, so I try and work those by hand. FUN! Sometimes he will let me work one after a test, as he sits on my lap for that, and stays for a bit, so good opportunity! :lol: :lol: So far I have done three and have maybe nine more to go. :roll: :roll: :? Good luck with Neko!

Hi Amy. Perhaps you are right. I can see the thought process: "take that! silly bean....". Mannie is like your two - one glance and there are ore of them. The belly that we worked so hard on the other day has two more today. :o :? I like the little rebel reference - it kinda fits!

Hi Ella - yes on the battle of the mats. I got some, not all. It is such a sensitive area for him, and I try not to push the limits. Itink to day was a tie.... Me 6, mannie 5, mats 29 :lol: :lol: :lol: tomorrow we will work on a few more there. :o :? and yes on the evening - I promised him. :-D

Rusty - it was fun today, wasn't it? I lubs sailing and the hammocks were cool. I am so excited for camp Stu tomorrow. I've started getting the bus ready - woo hoo! can't wait to go paddling again. and swimming too - can we dive off of the dock? See you tomorrow ~~ Mannie

I think Mannie saw the part of his condo that said no mat removal tonight and decided to calm down. Way to go big guy!

Michelle - after reading your reply to me I got out the zoom zoom and had a rather good session on both cats. The hair was flying like I'm sure it was at your place.
 
HI Wendy - YAY for flying fur! :-D I do like the zoom zoom - it does a great job on Mannie's without all that tugging. He seems to prefer it too. And yes - the fur does fly with that thing. Sometimes he will even purr, if I take it nice and slow. That is such a plus. now the comb? whole different story..... and bring out the body armor..... I think you may be right - he got the night off, and calmed down he did. PHEW!
 
Nice recovery day for Mannie.....no one does it like him! Hope the armor helps with the defurring. I have a zoom groom too but I like the furminator better for short hair.

Glad to see he's headed back down. Have a great night.
