Equine Vet tried to broach dex for horse throat. NOT an option with Insulin Resistant horse with history of founder.
Come on weekend. Need some sleep to think.

Good Morning Holly and Paul,

Congratulation's on Zack's reduction - another kitty surfing very low numbers yesterday evening. Holly, the week-end is coming but maybe not quickly enough. I hope you get that much needed rest. So sorry to hear things aren't well with your horse - hope all these things you mentioned can be resolved but not sure as I have no experience with horses. Wishing both you and Paul a great and peaceful day. Anne

Nice AMPS considering the dive last night!

I'm sure Zack will clear that little baby bounce quickly though..he's doing so great!

Do you have a diabetic horse too, Holly??

Hope you find a treatment that helps soon!

YEAH on the weekend! Hopefully Zack will give you a break and let you get some much needed rest! (You and me both on that one!)

Mis-typed dose this morning, we did reduce to .75.

Chris, I have a horse who is Insulin Resistant. they over produce insulin, kind of the opposite of diabetes. There is no medicine for it.
Low carb diet, no sugar, etc,

What we eat and feed our pets is so important.

When we talk about insulin resistance here, it's usually because the cat was started too high, and developed resistance to the insulin so has to have higher and higher doses to try to "break through" the resistance (that's a very basic explanation...there's more to it)

That's why I was wondering if you had a diabetic horse! I can only imagine how much insulin you'd have to give a horse!! WOWEEEE! :shock:

Nice blue surf for Zack today and I bet you could actually relax a little....you kind of got a "Trial by fire" there for awhile, so seeing these blues now are kind of "ho hum"...LOL
