I do think the AB is helping...Trix seems better, but still not 100%. But, her posture and walking are better (she was crouchy and walking super-duper slow; now she's not crouchy and has picked up the place to just plain old typical Trixie-slow), and we have haven't had any more "over-the-edge" pees, although she did have one early yesterday that was half in/half out of the box...that one allowed me to see that there wasn't any visible blood in it (it's really hard to tell when it's mixed in with the litter). She doesn't stop as soon as she steps out of the box anymore (which I think she was doing because of bladder spasms....just a theory), but she still has some moments where she does seem like she could be having spasms. Appy is good, although not quite a strong today as I like. So I am still a bit worried, but I do feel like I'm seeing improvement. This AB most likely won't be the final one we end up with after we get culture results, but at least it is helping for now. We'll see.

And, we have green.

I got a little gardening done yesterday, but I was very distracted and kept coming in to check on Trix. I'm going to head out for a little more gardening right now...it's somewhat sunny (been sooooo cloudy lately) and comfortable out. Rain returns tomorrow...big surprise.

Prayers to all....

Amy

Good job on the green Miss Trix. Glad you're seeing improvement with the AB. When will the culture results be in? Hope you enjoy the sunshine Amy

Nice to see Trixie is green again and happy to hear that she seems to be feeling a bit better!
It's hard not to worry about them isn't it? Once my little girl Snickers had an infection....every antibiotic we tried either failed or made her vomit. Then we tried a fourth kind. First dose was in the evening; during the night I got up to check on her (because she was feeling rotten enough that she wasn't even sleeping with me) she got out of her bed started running around my feet and purring! I immediately went to the kitchen to get her some fresh food which she ate all up and wanted more! Oh I still remember how happy and relieved I was at that moment in time, and that was several years ago!

Oh yeah, I know that feeling of joy when they suddenly feel SO much better. With Trix, our problem is sorta the opposite....she responds well to and tolerates the ABs, but within 10 days of going off the ABs, she totally backslides...and that's even after being on ABs for 6 straight weeks. I think this entire year she has been off ABs maybe a total of 25 days at the most. It's baffling...but, then again, (through a series of missteps by both myself and the vet's office) we never ran a culture until now....so, with any luck, that will be the key - and once we find the AB that sticks, I'll finally be relieved, too!

Trix does really seem to be almost back on track tonight. The current AB is helping, but she's been on it before (10 days and then 4 weeks earlier this year), so chances are this isn't THE one to do the job permanently, but at least for the moment, until we have more info, it is helping...

I hope the culture gives you the info you need so Trixie can get better and stay better!

I too hope little Trixie can get rid of this bladder issue and go back to the picture of health - and you won't have so many worries
beautiful holiday weekend in the heartland!!
