Re: 5/28 Max AMPS 303+3.5=288+6=327

If Max doesn't see any good numbers in the next couple of cycles (total of 6 on this dose), I'd increase .25U. Sometimes they just need to go up to go down. It's like their pancreas gets tired and needs a reminder. I've seen this before and also in cats that eventually went OTJ. :YMHUG:

You talked about Levemir as an option yesterday. Some kitties are still bouncy, but maybe less bouncy on Lev (Tess, JD) but some are flatter. We changed in September of last year if you want to see the difference. Neko still bounces, but she also has gorgeous flat cycles. Last night she varied all of 6 points.

Well this wasn't too good a day for Max. I will get the new pens tomorrow afternoon. My friend is shipping them next day UPS.

I will be done with my monoject syringes in about 5 days and then it will be time to switch to the terumo. It is my understanding that he will need even more insulin. I don't know if I should switch tomorrow night when I get the new insulin or after he's been on it to see if it helps him to go into better numbers. If anyone has ideas on this would you please PM me about it. Thanks.

He went up instead of down at +3.5. It is not working any more for him. confused_cat  Why is this so hard? Sometimes I wish I didn't know about home testing. I would think everything is fine. I don't feel like I am helping him.

((((Elise))))

You are helping him. I know it's hard to think how he's better when the bouncy numbers are as same or higher than when he wasn't getting insulin. But he is getting insulin and that's why he is better.

I think it's best to change one thing at a time. So either change the insulin and give it a few cycles and then change the syringes (or vice versa) so you can tell to what any changes might be attributable.

I am a huge levemir fan. It did take Gracie a few months to start to look better, and she does still bounce, but it sure has helped her flatten out and look better overall.

Maybe if you want to switch to lev at some time, you only want to get one Lantus pen?

Good luck with the fish oil.
