Good morning,

Yesterday's condo

Yesterday
AMPS=193 (1u); +2=225; +3=263; +10.25=220
PMPS=227 (1u); +2=221; +8=238

Today
AMPS=239 (1u); +2=283; +7.75=180; +9=211
PMPS=247 (1u); +2=275

Before I forget, thank you very much Tricia for the information about the gelcap filling system.
I like the one in the link you gave to me, but since it's not cheap, I'll first figure out what I need to do and if I still think it's useful, I'll order it.
So far, I mostly want to split one big capsule into 2 smaller capsules, so I can dose more correctly if I fill only 2 capsules at one time....
About the novel protein, I've been thinking about that too, but I haven't been successful in finding food made with novel protein that has low phosphorus, and most importantly that Lucy would eat.
I wish I can feed her raw meat diet since she loves it, but her tummy didn't do so well on raw when I tried years ago.
I am in the process of getting her food custom made, but unfortunately it's looking like I will have to sacrifice the low carbs part to support her other issues.
I will write about this in more details soon when the custom food is ready, but one of the formulas uses kangaroo, so it's worth trying.

Lucy vomited foamy liquid this morning, so she got Pepcid about an hour before the AMPS, but her appy is still poor.
I got her to finish the 1st breakfast which is half of her entire breakfast portion (team work!!), but I don't know if I can get her to eat any more.
She's high enough, and she'll have a pred spike, so I won't force her much today.

I have a busy day today with Lucy's reiki appointment and a vet appointment in the afternoon.
She'll have a follow-up blood work done.
I really hope her liver values are better, but overall her energy and appetite haven't gotten that much better since the last vet visit 2 weeks ago.
She has good days and bad days, and yesterday was a good day. Today, not so much.

Sending vines to all in need.

Hi Mariko,

I'm sorry to hear that Lucy isn't feeling well today. Hopefully, your vet appointment will bring you good news.

When you are talking about a custom diet, I wonder if you are referring to Rayne Pet Food located in Burnaby, BC? They make the most scrumptious diets for pets and some of their diets include kangaroo meat. It was one of the first things I tried with Pixie but he wouldn't have it. I even tried to purée it but no go, unfortunately. I may try it again on a day he's eating exceptionally well.

Good luck today, Mariko. Please keep us posted with Lucy's results after your vet visit. Anne

I hope Lucy's vet visit went well, and her test results are better this time around.

I hope everything went well with Lucy's vetty visit and she feels better soon.

Hi Mariko,
Here's hoping for one of Lucy's good days tomorrow. I wish I could help with the foods and the pills, etc., but I can send good vines for all of Lucy's issues.

Have a good evening,

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 5/28 Lucy AMPS=239;+2=283 // B/W TODAY

Sending lots of good vetty vines for Miss Lucy today. I hope you can come up with a plan to help her feel better. Paws crossed for much better liver values this time.

I've seen Rayne for sale at Korna. The other lower carb option is to think about is cooking the raw food. A friend of mine had a dog going through chemo so he couldn't eat food raw, so she sauteed the Red Dog kangaroo with a bit of water for him.

Re: 5/28 Lucy PMPS=247 // B/W TODAY

Thank you very much for visiting and sending vines for Lucy. :-D

The vet appointment went OK.
Lucy was grumpy, but they got the blood and it was only one poke.
I should have the results tomorrow.

Anne - Yes, it's Rayne's diet I am going to try.
They make custom Rx diet for dogs/cats with multiple health issues.
I've been communicating with Rayne's vet since March through our vet, and the consultation part was done last month.
They came up with 2 formulas formulated by another vet who does veterinary nutritional consultations.
I am not totally happy with the formulas as the carb % is much higher than what I asked for, but I finally OK'd the formulas after lots of Qs&As.
I'll report more about this new food once they are ready. It's going to be frozen cooked food, so less processed than canned food.
I've been wanting to write about this "project" for a while, but there has always been something else to report about, and as you know, my reports @ Lucy's condo are already too long most of the time...

Lucy ate better this evening. :-D
