Sorry it has taken me so long to get back on the board, chaos reigns supreme at my house right now, and I'm not even there today. (too much going on to get into)
Jack was on 10 units for 8 days, he had a decent amount of blues but also showed high numbers in the pink range at pmps time and then dipped low overnight a few times: 51, 54. I know it's all food related, the switch to a urinary appropriate diet is rough going, no one really likes any of the choices, even the non-prescription ones, so meal times are really tough. Jack has calmed down a bit (tolerates about an hour) about eating in the bathroom with Abby in the morning- he refuses to eat anything without the
kibble mix in the morning, so in he goes. My bathroom door is destroyed- suffice to say it needs a good sanding and paint job before I can even think about moving. For now, Jack and Abby will have to put up with it. I am going to be out of the house most of the week for a family situation, so there will be a severe lack of data on the SS unfortunately- AND, to add insult to injury, I had to move Jack's insulin times to 8:30am/8:30pm to accommodate the family insanity, so that's not helping his numbers either. The past week was a slow 15 minute move every cycle to get there.
I reduced to 9.5 units this week just to be on the safe side; who knows what he's doing with himself right now- will just have to take each day at a time and adjust from there I guess. William totally busted the bank so there is no $ in the budget for Jack's Cushing's test and IGF-1 retest now. Would I really be seeing BG numbers in the 50-100 range if he had one of those conditions? At this point, I'm looking at maybe not doing the tests for a few months and putting aside any extra cash to prepare for Otis' last vet appt
and Gypsy's bloodwork. Thoughts??
Hope all are well, and kitties are being good.
