5/28 Butch AMPS 207, +2 214, +6 196, PMPS 136, +1 120, +3 84

That block of greens for Butch a couple days ago was great! Let's see more of that!

Hoping he eats better, my Kona started her inappetence again the last couple days, so frustrating.

@Jason - Kona's Dad Sorry for the late response, today was a very eventful day. Butch showed me green during the night, but the Libre expired at +2 right before I was about to do a check, so I had to shoot this morning without monitoring :nailbiting: He has scheduled appointment to replace the Libre tomorrow, so another two shoots without monitoring him. His appetite has gotten better but he's back on Mirataz and Cerenia. As long as he's eating, I'm happy. Waiting for the ultrasound report from the hospital to reach his vet to discuss further.

I'm sorry to hear that Kona started her inappetence again. I know your frustration. I hope it passes soon and she's feeling better. What's causing Kona inappetence and what has helped Kona her with it?

Butch sister's Layla who has been in remission (12/5/15/), started over the holiday weekend with inappetence. I brought her yesterday for labs, still in remission, but today I found out that her labs indicated a problem with her liver, so she's spending the next two days at the vet receiving fluid and meds. She'll have an ultrasound to get a better idea what is causing the liver inflammation. I'm hoping for good news.

Right! I'll use Mirataz and Cerenia whenever Kona needs it.... I really have no other option. She's gotta eat! The last time she had inappetence it was from a oral mass that growing in her mouth that they cut out. It turned out non-cancerous, which is good. I was soo stupid, didn't ever piece together why I started to notice her eating more on one side of her mouth.

Good news, she was super hungry tonight and was actually good eating this morning and she had the Cerenia and Mirataz a couple days ago... she sometimes does this random protest of food and looks back at me like she is demanding a different food or wants toppers. She is sooo spoiled and a princess, I think that was this latest bout, she was playing games. Whatever, I'll take it! As long as I can shoot her insulin and give snacks. LOL

I hope the ultrasound comes back with good results for Butch. That's cool you have a Libre, I've been debating getting one for Kona for like a year now, but always back out.

So sorry to hear about Layla's liver issues. =( I hope the fluids and meds work well and the inflammations subsides. Uggg.. always something with these cats.

Sending you and the babies ALLLLL the good vibes and ALLLL the vines I got. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: Hoping for good news!!!

@Jason - Kona's Dad Thank you! Happy to know Kona oral mass is non-cancerous and that she was super hungry. Hoping she keeps it up! Exactly, whatever it takes to shoot. LOL. I totally get the way you feel for not noticing Kona chewing on one side. I do the same thing.

The vet said the fluids and meds are helping Layla. I believe she'll get discharged later today. The vet stated that her liver inflammation and jaundice might be from her not eating but the labs taking today will tell us more. Ugh, they found thickening of the small bowel mostly likely due to intestinal lymphoma, less likely IBD. The treatment would be prednisone injections, which make me nervous since she's in remission. I definitely need to figure out what would be best to help her.

I'm still waiting on Butch ultrasound report, but the Libre was placed yesterday. I really like the Libre. It works best for me because I am not able to test otherwise. I do believe the Libre reads lower than the other monitors, but I'm not exactly sure how much lower (maybe by 30). His BG was much higher (last night PMPS 343) from the last test I got before the Libre expired. I thought maybe from yesterday's vet visit (2 hrs in the carrier). This morning high again AMPS 376. Maybe when I wasn't testing, he had some really low greens and now he's bouncing. I'm thinking to wait it out before an increase... Hope to see blue and green again.
