Hi Michael,
I think your insulin is ok. It's supposed to be good for at least 28 days at room temperature and it looks like it's working to me. He's got definitely movement in his spreadsheet, so it's not like you're shooting water.
It's possible that Brody went a little lower yesterday and was coming up at the 186 and perhaps today is a bounce. That's my best guess. If my scenario is accurate, a bounce can take up to 3 days to resolve. There's more information about bouncing on the second post in
this thread. I think the single thing you could do to help puzzle out what's going on with him right now would be to get a test before you go to bed every night to see what he's got going on in the pm cycle. So many cats give their lowest numbers at night that the pm cycle is really important.
In the meantime, I'd just hang on to this dose and try to get one pm cycle test in. If these high numbers are a bounce, he could stay high even until Saturday's day cycle. He might clear it sooner, but if you do see high numbers like this until Saturday, don't worry too much. Being high doesn't mean that he'll just stay 350-350-350. He might bobble around some, but the overall look will be high while a cat is in a bounce. You'll know he's cleared the bounce when you catch a blue or green test.
I wouldn't increase his dose again until you've had someone experienced take a peek at his spreadsheet and we can be confident he's cleared the bounce. If he clears it during the pm cycle and then bounces again immediately, which some cats will do, we won't know that's happened without at least one pm cycle test every night. That's why I'm mentioning it.
Hope you're having a good week!
