Tiggy seems very lethargic this morning although when I shook the treat bag for test time he got up and came trotting over so he can move when he wants to. This dose looks good so far too.. Last nights bounce didnt last long. This morning he has soft stools again as well. IBD?

That's a nice amps for Tiggy this morning.....sorry about the loose bm tho.
Hope that Tiggy feel peppier as the day goes on.

I hope that he doesn't have IBD. I just had to look up what that was - I've learnt so much from this board!!! Keep up those lovely numbers Tiggy.

He probably does - although he never had these butt issues when he was on dry. Now he smears his little fuzzy ass all over my hardwood floor and carpet. I get feet long stripes of poop all over them as he squats and wiggles his ass to clean it off. But he also has a furry ass so I am not sure its not just a cleaning issue.

well....
not that this is a pleasant thing to write about....
but I have noticed that the freeze dried treats come thru the other end and leave really dry poo.... ( like it's been freeze dried)


Maybe crumbling the freeze dried treats into the canned food with water added would help firm things up a bit... plus a few extra treats.
It can often look like a train ... one car after the other.... some really dry....some normal....

Maybe you could get to more normal ...

just a tho't anyway....

for tests... I usually gave her 2 or 3 little lumps - as they come in the package - PureBites brand... probably smaller than other brands....

and I will often cover the top of her dish which is 3.5 inches wide...
I have to ... so she will eat most of her canned..... she only likes a few ...

I bought the dog bag because its bigger and cheaper. Tiggy can eat a ton of those grape size bits no problem - he loves loves loves chicken. I am planning to give him some more. He gets them anyway but its intermittent, and so is ass issue so maybe its connected? Thanks!!

Hi Wendy :-D Maybe his butt itches him? hemmoroids (sp)? worms? clogged anal gland(s)? boredom?
 
Next time Tiggy is into the vet, you might want to get them to check his anal glands. I just got that done with my civie - world of difference on the butt smearing. They usually will do that for free as part of something else you are there for.

Taking Rhiannon's thought a little further, the raw food diet will harden things up a bit. Have you ever tried that with Tiggy? Some of the brands will sell you a small sample pack to try and you could mix a little in with his regular food. Digestion issues can sometimes be helped by going to novel proteins. Try eliminating one protein from his diet for a couple weeks and see if it helps, then eliminate another one.

And Mr. Tiggy - what the heck are you doing up on that pink floor?! :o
