Morning.... ( sorta) yesterday

Shadow got her breakfast on her tall tower this morning with an open window.... seemed very content.
And I have this new purple bathroom rug that I set down and she adopted it immediately. Guess she likes that it's so fluffy (kinda like chenille)
This morning was a continued effort to put up more kitchen stuff and then wash the cat box and rugs in the area where the bag of safflower
had been sitting.
I went out and inspected it and found no beetles in it until I got to the very bottom of the bag ... and there I saw 5 or so.... so I guess they were
migrating looking for new food sources....
I'm so glad I saw the few there by Shadow's water bowl.... before we had a new population.
That bag has been emptied and bagged and tagged.... ;-) 2 more 50 lb bags to go.... but there are elsewhere.

Happy Memorial Day to all.... Remember who it's about.... Our freedom is being attacked every day even more so from the inside these days.

Morning Rhiannon, sounds like Shadow has a nice breffifs nook there in the tower and then a purple rug that he now owns. :lol: Nice green AMPS for Shadow. :mrgreen:

Hi Rhiannon....how nice of you to buy a new rug for Shadow. She didn't already own enough 'stuff' around the house :lol:

Now I have to go search for the condo that tells about the beatles. I get them in my bird seed. Well flour/seed moths, that lay eggs and hatch into critters, if I don't catch them in time.
I use traps with sticky paper in it, and a pheromone tablet. They work to catch the flying moths.
 
Wow! What awesome, green numbers there, Shadow! I don't know too much about beetles other than the ones that get on rose bushes.... I assume the safflower is for the birds????
 
Hey Kat, I had to search for yesterday's condo, to see what Rhiannon was talking about.
The safflower seeds are for the fancy cat litter box. I'm not sure, but I think they don't absorb fluid. Not too sure though.
 
Yes. The safflower is "impermeable" to moisture ... hard exterior shell....

the sawtooth beetle is the size of a flea. Their favorite place is oatmeal and if you buy whole grain oatmeal and keep it for a long time in a warm place.... something will likely hatch
inside the sealed canister. ( so it's just like weevil eggs that come in flour we buy- keep your flour in the freezer to prevent it)

Ugh on the bugs... not fun! Good luck with it all.

Looks like you had a big job spring cleaning your kitchen! For some strange reason I love to do a thorough kitchen cleaning!!
If you were closer I would have offered to come over and help!! :)
