I think Max has something going on inside his mouth. He is drooling little puddles on the hardwood floors everywhere. He does not act like he is nauseous and there’s no vomiting. He eats well. I tried to look in his mouth with a pin light and I see that he does have some tartar. His gums look a little red to me. He just went to the vet a few weeks ago and she said his teeth weren’t that bad. The vet doesn’t want to do anesthesia because of heart issues, so he can’t get a dental. Max goes back to NCSU in a month to cardiology for an echo. They said the hypertrophy hadn’t worsened and there was no further enlargement. The first echo was done prior to his CT and SRT when he had anesthesia for both procedures. They knew of his heart issues then but said they were mild and not a contraindication for Max to have the SRT. He did fine other than getting pancreatitis afterwards.

His vet doesn’t feel comfortable with that until we talk more to cardiology. I definitely agree with her.

They are closed until Tuesday so I will call then to get him an appointment. I have 5 syringes of Bupe left and plenty of Gabapentin. I’ve given him the Bupe today. I’m thinking she may just need to treat the gingivitis if that’s what she thinks is the problem since he can’t have a dental done. It’s seriously a lot of drooling.
