Good Afternoon World! Welcome to our extra sweet Home! Yesterday <-WOW! That's TWO condo's with a 'Yesterday' - WOOT WOOT!!!

AMPS 293
+4 - 282

FINALLY! Today Sweet Dakota is beginning to settle down and figure out that this place is OK! He says it would be a LOT more OK if his quarantine period was over...poor baby. I opened his room to the cutest thing this morning but he moved before I got the camera. We used to keep the dog's 22-lb hard food in that room - I forgot that I'd left an empty bag in there. Sometime last night, he discovered the empty bag - he was laying inside it this morning. It had been zippered closed but he just KNEW it had something in it - he tore open the side...silly silly kitty!! He didn't find even one single piece (I EMPTY them!) altho' he does have bitty crumbs all over him, the floor and shelves.

We're now beginning to dance well together - we've established testing positions as well as shooting that is comfortable for both of us. I was able to move to the side to shoot this morning - he's a very stout boy, his 'scruff' is full of muscle and fat...don't like shooting there.

EYE QUESTION: Dakota has something not quite right with his eyes. I noticed in lots of his older and adoption pictures that his pupils were dilated but thought it was probably just excitement. I noticed it also when he arrived but, again, chalked it up to excitement/tired/new stuff. After we got here, it continued but until today, I STILL chalked it up to 'new'. Today he's relaxed, talking to me, playing but still no reaction from his pupils. It's not a problem for ME but I do need to support ALL of him so need to figure out what's happening there. It was mentioned that he had 'leaky' eyes - the fluid leaking seems sort of sticky and crystally. It's not glaucoma nor conjunctivitis - symptoms aren't right for either of those....ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?

LOTS of thoughts and prayers for Desi today - Squirmy-butt crossed last night - fly free sweet Jessi.

BIG HUGS to all that visit today!!!

Hi Lyresa, I adopted an old guy from our shelter several years ago, a bit on the semi feral side of things, or at least had been on the mean streets a while. It took him a full two weeks before his pupils relaxed down. That in spite of knowing me and purring on my lap not too long after he got home. Have you tried Lysine for him to see if that might help his leaky eyes.

Glad to hear he's settling into home. :-D
