Hello LL,
Sorry for being absent for so long - I came down with a stomach bug and Zoe wasn't doing well. I spent alot of time at the vets office or on the phone with her. Zoe finally seems to be on the mend.....at least somewhat. She is on Clavamox for a UTI that was finally diagnosed as being Corynebacterium (very slow growing) making the ID and sensitivity difficult. Her blood sugars have been all over the place with today being really icky ohmygod_smile But through it all, she has been purry and lovey. Yesterday, I was able to see her personality starting to come back - she was being goofy and played with her toys a little and she fought the Clavamox - when she doesn't feel good, it isn't too hard to pill her - but when she feels good, it is difficult at best to try and pill her. She is happily eating her Clav in her food twice a day - so I am good with that.
I did get some bad news last week - our vet, whom we adore, is closing her office to move back to Missouri to be with Family, because she is needed there.   This is the vet who diagnosed Zoe's asthma (after her previous vet missed it several times), treated her diabetes with the start low and go slow approach and who gave me her home and cell numbers to call anytime. I am completely devastated - but I understand why she is leaving. She has given me the name of a vet she uses for her own animals and he has hired one of her techs to coordinate with her patients - the only good thing is he is 5 minutes. have to make an appointment for next week - fingers crossed I like him as well as I like her.
