Well since Tuxie's "better" day on Sunday he has chosen to stay in the higher ranges, so he got a dose increase last night of .25 units. It seems every time he has a nice run he goes higher again...not sure if I would call this a bounce or more like glucose toxicity and just him trying to maintain his "normal" higher levels.
The dynamics will be changing around here is a couple of days. My son's two kitties (sisters age 6.5 years) will be staying with me for about a month. He is changing apartments and due to a mix up he has a month in between the old and the new. They have lived here for about a year a few years back and unfortunately my 2 and his 2 do not get along well. I have also had them (prior to Tuxie's dx) for 3-5 days at a time when my son was going to be away. At best it is an uncomfortable truce.
Tuxie's sister Maxie will hide in my bedroom the first 4 or 5 days, so I will have to put food/water and litter box there for her. Tuxie will have his nose out of joint and will hiss and growl at them (although it never turns into outright warfare). And I am sure Gizmo and Smokey will be upset at being uprooted from their usual surroundings. My son works and has a busy outside work schedule so he won't be around much to help out.
So now I will have to monitor their food, which is the same home-made I use, to make sure Tuxie doesn't get into theirs. They will be in the basement, but when it comes to food, Tuxie has a very keen nose. Plus I will have to find another spot for their litterboxes, so I can monitor who does what.
So all in all I really don't know what the change will do as far as Tuxie's numbers. He is very routine oriented and not very flexible to change. I may have to leave his dose at the same amount for longer periods of time until I can see whether the stress is having an effect on his readings.

It took about 6 months to see the last of them. Then almost another year before she parked her red dress in the closet.
