Yesterday

Good morning all! Much better start to the day today  He snuck in some food at 7:30 and his +4 reflects that since it takes 2-2-1/2 hours for food to not show in his numbers. Thanks for the visits Debbie, Deb and Carla - we appreciate it. Still not ketones in the test last night and again this morning! Yeah!

All P's in place, he's happy and purring. Had a little trouble with his morning test and hurt his left ear - my stupid hand was numb and the lancet slipped. Ouch!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. We cleaned/polished and decorated graves yesterday for our parents and my sis. Makes me feel good when we do that.

Wishing good numbers, safe surfs and healing vines to those that need them.

Jo

Remember, Jo, food will show later with Levemir. It's onset (time when it kicks in) is later than with Lantus - after +4 and as late as +5.5.

Glad all 5 Ps are in place.

Enjoy the long weekend.

Claudia,

Thank you - I didn't really think of that!

I hope you enjoy your weekend as well!

Jo

What do you think of increasing the dose? I think he's been at this dose too long with little movement. Unlike lantus where you would need to get those midcycle tests to see if they are going low, if you are getting late cycle tests, you'd be picking up on the lower numbers.

Thanks for visiting LBG!! :-D :-D

Hope you are doing well. Hugs!

Hi Jo! Not your fault about his sweet little ear; all of us here have done that I'm sure at least once or twice (as for me--at least half a dozen when I was learning to test and also a few weeks ago when I got the eye infection); Gobbles said to give his boo boo a little kiss :-D I am so sorry for your loss; how sweet of you to take such loving care of their graves; I'm so glad it makes you feel good. I don't know how it feels to lose a parent(s) and sibling; it seems that you have peace wings_cat Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

It's nice to see that yellow for Scratchie today. Yay on the negative ketone test.

Re: 5/26-Scratchie-AMPS-292,+4-334,+6-282

Wink has a tiny tear in the edge of one ear now from when he ran away from me just as I poked. I trap him a little bit more now to make sure that does not happen.

 OK I had to laugh! Lucian's ears are scalloped on the edges from fighting as a young cat. Try getting close to an edge that isn't even there! :o They are tough and leathery and NOT straight. I do the best I can and use neosporin ALL the time. Since I have numbness/stiffness issues in my hands too, I probably pierce his ear 30% of the time, but he rarely even flinches and like I said, I use a ton of neosporin on him. I've laughingly stated that he seems less dry and shinier now, but wonder if it's just the neo working it's way down.

Thanks everyone - Debbie, Deb, Kat, Marje - you make me laugh!

Marje, I think we're going to keep him where he is for a bit. When we first started the Lev we upped so fast and I want to see what he does with this run. It takes him longer to settle into doses than other kitties (ECID) and if I hadn't seen some yellow then I might have increased. Curious as to what's in store....

Thanks again everyone!
