5/26 Ruby OTJ Trial Day 7 AMBG 81/+9 86/PMPS 75

She is still getting the ondansetron and Pepcid?
I’m not sure what others thoughts will be, but would it be helpful to remove those methodically & then give it a week to be sure that glucose remains unchanged before going into a trial?

My thought is if you remove the meds first, wait a short period and then do the trial, if there is an issue at any point within those periods (the week completely off meds or during the trial) you will know that the GI issue is more than likely what may have caused the issue....aka remove the variables.

I think this is day 7, we'd back date it. Of course I would continue to monitor med needs and see if that makes a difference in the numbers, but I wouldn't delay a trial for it. It is what it is, 7 days of solid green with no insulin.

Yesterday on Everyone Says I Love Ruby. :cat:

Eating. ✅
Playing with catnip carrot. ✅
Lying on her back to show the world her belly. ✅
Day 7 of a green start and no insulin.✅

Healing thoughts for all of the sick kitties (Darcy, I’m talking to you here.) Have a good day everyone! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Go Ruby Go! Go Cat Go! :-) I just can't believe how great this is... Ruby goes into the hospital... Ruby comes back from the hospital and she doesn't need insulin anymore. Show us all how it's done, Ruby!

Ok, now I am going to do a happy dance!!!!! :p:woot::joyful::D Thank you @Wendy&Neko for giving us the nod!

Since the trial is being done on the heels of Ruby’s illness I remain cautious in my optimism. @Tomlin, I will taper the meds soon and can only hope she stays this steady. If not, she will need to stay on the meds. These flares will happen again. Hopefully she won’t need to go back on insulin but I’m mentally prepared for it as she clearly gets very stressed when not feeling well. Will cross that bridge when we come to it! :bighug:

I will taper the meds soon

I personally wouldn’t worry about timing :). If you are running the trial regardless of the meds being given, then I would just manage the meds the same way as you were going to manage them before it was decided that this was a trial. This may be your plan..... I just wanted to clarify that I certainly was not pushing for tapering sooner vs as planned or as needed :bighug:. I’m a go slow & carefully on the med taper front :)! I’m the tortoise vs the hare in these scenarios! Where’s the turtle emoji :p?? No rabbit either :(.

Will cross that bridge when we come to it!

I say follow that old military saying ...... “BURN the bridges!!”:rolleyes:

I hear you. This Friday will mark the two week point that Ruby's been on supportive meds and she's eating so well that I don't want to ruin a good thing.:bighug:
