Good evening everyone. It's been a while since I've been on here (almost a week). Things are/where busy on the home front, and kitty's been pretty stable, so I took a bit of a hiatus.
Work has been crazy, and then with the holiday weekend.. I wasn't able to do as much testing as I hoped. Sunday I upped her dose to 3 units though.
Things have been easy until tonight. Not even her +6 and she's already as 61. And seems to be falling steadlily. I have lots of test strips and treats and lancets and HC food. What I don't have is sleep... And I'd really like sleep...
I don't think I have any questions yet. Just some company would be nice since I should probably test her again at +5.5 and like I said... I'd really like a nap
Hope all is well in the LL world and kitty's all around have been surfing nicely so their beans can sleep
Hmm... +5.5 is 68. I think I'll count that as being the same as her +5 number and just test again in a half hour. Hopefully that will be enough of a rise for me to sleep worry free soon.
Oh and yay green! (Sometimes it takes me a bit to get excited with lack of sleep)
hope she's gonna surf for you.... green time is healing time for that pancreas.
be sure and give her food as you head to bed.... that will also boost her a bit....
Thanks Rhiannon! What would you suggest food wise to give tonight? I was thinking that i didn't want to give food unless she hit below 50 so not to mess up her surf (if she has one).
Just saw your question. If she's up a bit at the next test, you can probably leave out low carb food. Feeding a little bit of low carb when they first hit green can encourage a surf. But I wouldn't do it just yet, cause you want to see if she's rising on her own.
She definitely does! I suppose it's for the best though since I could (theoretically) test all night, not so much in the daytime what with work and all
since you wanted to see how she did on her own, it was good not to have fed it yet.
If you had to go to bed, and couldn't monitor, then definitely you want to give her the ability to boost herself ( even with low carb) .
Oh good. That's what I was thinking the plan should be. I definitely want to utilize and study these low numbers at night to get her as much healing time as possible while helping me to understand what might happen when I'm at work. So if I can help it, I like to monitor and see.
Thanks gals for keeping me company through this! I'm gonna take a... Cat nap... For a few (see what I did there??? Hehe)
Still rising with a +7 of 82. I think it's a safe bet for official bed time. Thanks again ladies for keeping an eye out for us. I hope your night goes just as smoothly.
She accomplished 2 things at the same time - kept you up so you'd keep her company, and she got to spend a lot of time in green! a win-win situation all around.
