Logan has been doing well. He's been playing more and just acting more like his old self. I haven't updated his SS in a few days but I'll try to get that done at some point today or tonight.

He was very playful last night - played bottle cap hockey in the kitchen. I should've tested him at 3am this morning when he woke me up for his snack but I could barely keep my eyes open. This morning, the first test showed 188 but the strip didn't immediately suck in the blood. When it does this, it often misreads. So, we tested again and he was 254. He was very subdued this morning. He seemed to feel a little out of it. He did eat well, though. He had some EVO 95% chicken/turkey. He gets 3/8 of a can in the morning and he ate that. I put out 1/4 can of Instinct Rabbit so if he dropped low while I was at work. The little stinker found the plate in the closet (his safe place) and ate all of it before I even left! :lol: I'm sure he was probably on his way back up at AMPS so he should be ok. I'll worry all day, anyway, though! DH2B is going home for a +5 or +6. I think maybe he's stopped bouncing from the 200s he was getting...maybe he'll visit the blues now...and then bounce some more!

I think I worry more b/c he's at such a high dose of insulin! If I was only shotting a couple of units I wouldn't freak out over a high 100s/low 200s pre-shot. He's at 7.5 units, which is a little scary!

I love to hear that he's seaking out the hidden food! I know nothing about dosage sizes or anything, but If that's what it takes to keep him in a decent range, then so be it. I can tell you not to worry, but I know you will. He seems to be doing great and I'm so happy to see that.

That is an awesome AMPS for Logan....glad to hear he is acting like his old self again...
Max said he'd pick up Logan for the party tomorrow...but I guess they will all be talking about it today at Pedro's party.
I empathize with you about the higher dose and the fear of him dropping...as long as he is seeking out his foods, it should be ok, right? Dear DH2B going to check on him...that is SO great!! But Logan can't go eating all the food before you even leave the house! What a little character he is! :lol:

Thanks, Jason. Logan is a big boy and has lots of fat. We think it's a combo of fat and pred that's caused his insulin resistance. He now seems to be responding - we've been decreasing his pred slowly. How's Belle doing?

Logan is OBSESSED with caps - bottle caps, salt grinder cap, etc. He goes crazy for them but hasn't played like that in a long time. Maybe the playing will burn some calories! I'm afraid to see what he weighs when we take him in next week.

It's so hard when I can't be home with him to keep an eye on him. Stupid job! Logan is looking forward to the party - maybe he'll reward me with great #s for letting him go. The little punk doesn't always eat the food when I give it to him but if I don't want him to eat it, he gobbles it right down! He'll have to get smaller snacks for the rest of the day. He was hiding under DH2B's clothes when I put the plate in there. I went to dry my hair and when I came back the plate was clean and he was back in hiding. :lol: This is definitely preferable to the not eating issues we were having a couple months ago!

And he's well on his way to RBC! I think he was definitely in the 100s last night/this morning. Hopefully, he'll clear the rebound soon. His liver does seem to be a slow learner, though, so I won't hold my breath! DH2B said he ate his lunch after he sprinkled some chicken dust on it. These kitties and their chicken dust! :lol:

So he's a big gulper, that's OK!
Logan's happier and doing the bottle cap thing, and is likely puzzled at the issues that YOU are having, cuz he's feeling pretty darn good TUVM!

I know it's so hard; we see trouble around every corner and worry like crazy.
So what if he needs a wee bit more insulin right now; it does not matter too much if outwardly he's looking fine.

How does he seem to others, people who don't have a clue about the insulin? I bet they think he's looking better and acting OK, right? And that's what we miss sometimes.
Just remember about Randi/Max - he liked his insulin too, but is now OTJ, so a wee bit high can just mean he needs a helper for a bit.

Me, I don't care if Shadoe needs 6.5u BID forever; she's looking pretty fine now. I have my girl back and that's all that matters!

Big scratches for Logan and I hope he has lots of bottle cap play.
