We give thanks to all who have served and continue to serve our country.
LBG was up with the sun and her beloved Daddy. I did manage to get lots of cuddles with her during the night. She was in her condo in our room when I went to bed. Not long after Mike came to bed, I got up for water and she was chirping up a storm at me from her condo. Those adorable little ccchhhuuurrrps!. Tiny meows with purrs...
I gave her a little hug and kiss and then she got down and followed me to bed and curled up close. She, Tobey, and I had our morning catio/coffee time and then the two of them disappeared. I went into the library to see what they were doing and they were both sitting on the antique bench that has a storage area below the seat. And what, you might ask, is in the storage area? Their toys that require supervised play
Her cycle last night was perfect. This is what we love about lev....how flat can she get? And this is what we hope she will continue to do. She's been coming down every morning from AMPS to +2 (yesterday into the 40s) and I've been feeding her just a little bit more carbs than usual but I guess her depot is now drained because today she got a food spike. I would love to not have had to feed her extra carbs so I could take advantage of overlap but if she onsets from the 40s, not good. Now I know it's time to back off and feed her regular food again. Yesterday for low numbers, we tried Trader Joe's chicken/turkey pate that is 10% calories from carbs and it worked perfectly! So we hope that will keep us from having to use karo for low numbers.
Tobey's poos are back to normal. YAY!! He just didn't like the Cowboy Cookout evidently. He's back to his experiments to see how high he can jump. I'm in the office and I had the closet door open a bit. I heard a noise and looked and he had jumped from the recliner, through the opening and onto the safe in the closet. Pretty good jump for him. But then he was eyeballing the shelves
Last night, Catherine asked this:
I didn't see her question last night so I'm responding today. We try to get her surfing a little higher (after she's gone lower) by giving her food until her numbers come up where we want them and then not giving food. If she has too much insulin (e.g. depot is really full), that might not work. But if she onsets, comes down low but the dose is good, if we can just get her up a tad, then she'll surf. Last night is a perfect example!
Also, Catherine, thank you very much for the food suggestions! We have used the FF in the past and haven't had great results but we haven't tried the Weruva. I appreciate that input and will check into it.
Lots of healing vines and prayers to those who need them especially Sasha, Trixie, and Lucy. Happy Memorial Day.
