Yesterday's Condo

Cinco jumped off a low cliff this morning, and has been wading in the lagoon every since. I don't have a problem with that at all! I would prefer a blue PS, but beggars can't be choosers! We had a 6:00am wake up call this morning. I could not get him to quiet down by yelling from the landing, so I went down and gave him a full body massage and head rubs for five minutes and he settled right down. I sure hope I didn't set a dangerous precedent! :o I wonder if the problem is that he wakes up and can't hear or smell anyone and thinks he's been abandoned, so he hollers to make sure we're still here?! He has no way of knowing what time it is (darn it!).

Sasha is still sneezing, despite my giving her about 3 mg of Zyrtec last night. I'm going to give her the full 5 mg in a few minutes. If that doesn't stop her I don't know what else to do. Maybe dust and vacuum?  The air purifier is due for a filter change next week (both filters), so maybe that will help. It is hot enough today that we closed all the windows and turned on the A/C, but this isn't the first day we've done that, so it's hard to say if the problem is coming in from outside or not. The good thing is that, even though she snuffles and sneezes, her appetite is still good. She eats well and does pretty well with the pill pockets, although sometimes I have to get another pocket as she's eaten around the capsule!

Harvey has been a little off his fuds the past couple of days. At first I thought he was just being picky. but two different flavors didn't tempt him last night, and then everyone decided they did not care for what had been their favorite flavor up till now!  He did eat some dry food, though. This morning was the same way, and then I noticed some spots on the family room carpet that looked like someone had thrown up a clear liquid. I was pretty sure it was Harvey, so I gave him some Pepcid (no problem eating Pill Pockets!), and twenty minutes later he cleaned his plate! I read on Tanya's site that CKD kitties often have acid tummy issues, and although he isn't full blown CKD (knock on wood), I'm wondering if this is going to be an ongoing issue for him. I may put him on the maintenance dose of Pepcid, every other day, and see if that helps. So now all four kittie will be on meds! :YMSIGH:

I hope everyone has/had a wonderful holiday weekend (and if you are not in the US, I hope you had a great weekend and a good Monday today).

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:

Tricia :YMHUG: :YMHUG: I haven't been on hte board much this weekend and just got caught up on Sasha's Dx. I'm so sorry to hear about this. Sending tons of for the best possible outcome. She looks like such a sweetheart in her t-shirt. Even if it does come to amputation as the others have said, cats are adaptable. Here's another video of a front leg amputee kitten, Eby, the three-legged miracle kitty. He moves so fast it took me a while to figure out which leg was missing!

You might have gotten there a little ahead of me but we're both splashing around now!! What did you do with my waterwings?? It's my turn to ride on the innertube too!~ China

Nice cycle today Tricia!

Now I wonder what these two have cooked up for the PM cycle?? I'm almost afraid to think about it

Hope the Pepcid continues to help Harvey and that the higher dose of Zyrtec slows down or stops Sasha's sneezing!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Hi Tricia,
Cinco's numbers are looking good!
I'm sorry Sasha's still sneezing.....
But I'm glad her appetite is good.
Yay for figuring out why Harvey wasn't eating.
You are a wonderful momma, Tricia.

Cinco is looking awesome. You may be on to something...if he wakes up in the middle of the night and can't sense that anyone is around, maybe it scares him a bit. Poor sweetie...he's lucky to have you for his MamaBean.

Sending anti-sneezing vines to sweet little Sasha, too. I'm glad her appy is good despite the snuffles. Hopefully Harvey's tummy will settle, too. Pepcid is amazing stuff...I can tell when it has started kicking in with Trix, too.

I hope you're enjoying a relaxing evening...I know it's hard with all that you have going on, but you deserve some R&R!!

Re: 5/26 Cinco PMPS 215 +3.5 175

Cinco has made a liar out of me again. Just this morning I told Chris that Cinco never plays. So a little while ago he was rolling on the floor, and he looked really cute, so I waved his nanner in his face and he grabbed it and all four legs started going! He NEVER does that! :-D It only lasted a couple of minutes, but it was cool!

Thank you for the link to Eby's story, Ann. That was very emotional to watch.

Hey China! I'm sorry, I poked a hole in your waterwings by accident. I guess my claws need trimming. I can't make it to the lagoon tonight - I'm stuck on shore, so you can ride the innertube all you want. Have fun! - Cinco

Mariko and Amy, the Pepcid helped Harvey this morning but he was back to the picky eater tonight. I don't think it was his tummy, and I don't think it was the flavor I served. He followed me upstairs and started eating off Sasha's plate - the same food he spurned downstairs! I think he's messing with me. Perhaps because everyone else is getting extra attention due to their ailments, he is angling for the same attention? I don't know. I think they're all trying to kill me. Jersey must have been here giving lessons!

I'm indulging in an adult beverage before Cinco's final test of the night (I say that because I'm reasonably sure he's still on dry land). Maybe I'll try to turn in early for a change!
