Yesterday morning was a nice run, but Tuxie decided not to play any more and went up to higher numbers in the PM. At least his AMPS today was lower than it has been when he bounces from the greens. So maybe the "feeding the blues" did help keep him from bouncing too high. Time will tell :) At least I won't have to be doing as much testing today, so I can go and do some errands and things.
 
It is always nice when you can take a mini break from a lot of testing. Hopefully Tuxie will at least get down into the BLUE for you today. I know how you don't like to see those big jumps, but it will probably take a little while for his liver to stop panicking. It does seem like it didn't panic as much this time around.

Thanks Tina. Actually Tuxie's +3 reading is just barely a blue if you look at the reading on a human meter...196

+3 was 261 on AT2 pet meter and 196 on FS Lite human meter

I know it is very confusing with the few people such as myself who use a pet meter. At some point I need to change over to a human meter, but over the last 6 months, since I started, my brain has learned to "understand" Tuxie's numbers on an AT meter. Since I also think in world units (mmol/l) rather than the US readings (mg/dl) it is a lot for my tired, over-worked brain to deal with :)
 
You need to use the meter that works for you. Yours is more accurate than the human ones that many of us use. If the strips weren't so expensive I would switch as well.

The interesting thing with the Alpha Trak and Free Style Lite is that they are made by the same company. I came across a forum where theperson was using the FS lite strips with the AT2 and they were within range. I did probably 30 or so cross-tests using AT2 and AT2 strips VS AT2 and FS lite strips and they were close within less than 5% difference. So that is what I use for my AT2. I only have a few AT strips left but every now and then I will do a comparison and it still works. The FS lite strips are less than 1/2 the price of AT strips. I buy locally and the FS strips are one of the cheaper ones for me in Canada. I do have a FS Lite metere since here you get it free when you buy strips but I only use it for comparison occasionally, since it means using 2 strips each time.

+5 was 229 on AT2 pet meter and 144 on FS Lite human meter
 
Well since Tuxie decided to stay in the higher numbers I gave him the .25 unit increase he was threatened with 2 days ago. He did such a nice rum yesterday morning then decided the higher numbers were more to his liking.
