It is bright sunshine this morning, so even though the forecast is for thunder showers later, we are going out for a shortish paddle. Rusty is glum because we're going to leave him alone! He had a good night, I think, but Edward thought he was trying to hack up a hairball (I didn't hear anything!). The AM routine went well.

We had a great, busy day. The paddle this morning was beautiful--on a large lake, hardly any wind, and blue skies. We didn't get home until +7 and then had to make a dish for the picnic tomorrow. We hope that this weather holds. It was supposed to rain today! And tomorrow. My sister really enjoyed the paddle. Tonight we watched an old tape (that we taped in 1988) of a Met telecast of Strauss' "Ariadne auf Naxos". Spectacular (Jessye Norman, Kathleen Battle, Tatiana Troyanos, James King, headed the stellar cast). My sister is going to see this opera at Glimmerglass this summer and was glad to have the opportunity to see it beforehand.
