Well, little Pedro packed his little dayback for his vet visit and ultrasound today. He is quite embarassed that he is going to have a bald tummy for the parties.

But he is really looking forward to some great Mexican food and all the gang (he really wants a Piñata filled with catnip mice)

I am whispering......yay day 13. It does not mean anything really just the day after day 12 and the day before day 14 which really means nothing. :mrgreen:

pssssst, Pedro - I just got my belly shaved (last Friday to be exact). My Dad wanted my Mom to put a sweater on me but I don't need it. I get lots of extra rubs on my belly every time they pick me up or stop by to admire me. And, I have a soft fuzz back already. Actually, I was thinking I may be making quite a fashion statement for this summer. You know how the really cool cats are copied these days, don't you?? And, don't let the vet raise your numbers, it doesn't hurt a bit!

Pedro really appreciates all the support for his smooth chest. I think I will tell him it's very metrosexual.

He just texted me from the vet's and said he really wants the outfit Roni and Moonie showed him. The serape and sombrero from the old country bring back special memories. With regard to the sombreo he'll take both the hat and the drink – esp. after today’s activities.

Hey, Pedro, my man....I have a pair of zippy pants that you can wear tomorrow, man...My mum got them for me for cinco de mayo and I think that they may be just the thing for you to wear! They are actually zippy shorts...black with little hot peppers all other them. They will go purrfectly with the serape and sombrero that Ronnie and Luna showed you. See ya tomorrow for a hoppin party!

Yo Pedro! I've been delving through my recipes and would like to suggest the following for your big OTJ party (anti-jinx):
appetizers: Mexican grilled shrimp; Huevos Rancheros
entrées: Chicken fajitas; Carne con chiles
salad: pickled catnip and field greens
dessert: Chef Stu's Famous Catmint Parfaits

See you soon. I'll bring my sou chefs: Raja, Tess, Lanky, Buzz and any other guys or gals who feel up to helping with the preparation. Drinks I will leave to the Magnificent Maui, who is sure to have a proposition for you and will want to measure you for a uniform. Tell her to be careful of your shaved belly!

Well Pedro is just beside himself about tomorrow. Really can't wait to get to the great eats and dance with everyone.

Good news part of the ultrasound is that all other organs look good.
Bad news is he has a big tumor on the left adrenal. The ultrasound vet specialist just said "Wow, this is really rare in cats, I've been doing this for a long time and it's only the second one I've ever seen".
So nice to have a rare kitty...So I quess one could also say that it's good it's not both sides of the adrenal.
Anyway, I am suspending thought as more research needs to be done to see if there is a reasonable solution.

He is home, happy, eating, not in immediate danger and has a very big day tomorrrow.
(No BG test until later as we just got home)

Well Amy, knowledge is power. Armed with you knowledge, do the research and I know you will come up with a good plan. We love Pedro...and are so happy that today is over with....hope you keep his little belly warm. HUGS to you both!!!
 
(((Amy))) (((Pedro))) This confirms what was strongly suspected before, but it doesn't make the news any easier to hear. I think it is very good news that only one side is involved. I hope your vets (who sound very good) can come up with a plan of treatment.

i'm sorry to hear about the tumor, but like cheryl said, at least you know what is causing the cushings.
i'm sure they'll come up with a great treatment plan for pedro...

Yeppers, Pedro is certainly one unusual kitty! I'm glad you now know what is going on with Pedro and can now do all the research and get more knowledgeable before going forward.

Spot is looking forward to seeing Pedro at his party tomorrow. He is out shopping for Pedro's condo warming present...a nice comfy lounger. Hopefully Ms. Maui will let him enjoy it for a while, lol

Pedro, Moonie had a shaved belly once when she had a giant boo boo--It was so cute & pink!!
