Yesterday's Lagoonfest

I just realized that, except for that PMPS, Cinco spent pretty much all day yesterday in "normal" numbers!!! How cool is that? He's been looking so good lately that I keep pinching myself and saying "anti-jinx"!!! Now I just need that wretched hot spot to go away. I'm still not seeing any more tufts of fur, so we're sticking with the soft collar. He is not a fan of Marje's treatment, but he "lets" me do it a couple times a day. It's hard, 'cause the fur is pretty long and thick in that area. Last time he had one and I had to take him to UCD for a cancer recheck, they trimmed up the fur around it to make it easier to see. Hopefully they'll do that again when we go on Wednesday. Funny how he seems to get hot spots right before his UCD appointments!

Minka seems to be having a p-titis flare today. I couldn't get her to eat anything this morning, and finally managed to get some baby food into her. I've pretty much been feeding her a spoonful at a time, about every 15-20 minutes, all day, as that is all she'll take. She's had about a jar and a half so far. If I can get get another half har into her, that'll be 200 calories. I may try syringing a little cat food later. I can't tell if the Bupe is helping or not. She's interested in eating, but after a couple of very light licks she turns away. She's had Ondansetron, Pepcid, Cerenia and SEB at various times today. I really am out of ideas. :(

Sasha, meanwhile, has been chowing down, and when I bring Minka baby food, Sasha comes hopping in to try to steal some! She's getting pretty aggressive about it - gotta love that Pred!

Harvey spit up foam this morning so I gave him double his usual dose of Pepcid. His appy was poor most of the day, until the baby food came out! He's only eaten a little cat food all day - sticking mostly to the baby food. Little knothead - I can't tell if his tummy hurts or he's just being difficult.

Still cool and windy here today, but I understand our lovely spring weather is about to go away. We're to hit the 80s in the next couple of days and be flirting with 90 by next weekend. ICK!!! @Marje and Gracie, I can't believe you were in the 70s there yesterday! That's practically winter weather in Tucson!

Leftover ribs for dinner tonight, but I've got to get the potatoes in the oven, so bbl.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Carla & Callie, Deanna & Billie, and Georgia & Simon. :bighug: Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.

Nice going Cinco yesterday with your normal numbers....get down with your bad self!

Sorry to hear that Harvey and Minka are having fuds trouble :(

Sending boat loads of healing vines to all your babies and good vetty vines for Cinco!

My goodness Tricia, you have your hands full with all your kitties at the moment.
Cinco's numbers are great.
Appy Vines to Minka, Sasha and Harvey and a :bighug: for you, sounds like you could do with a few of them!

Cinco's numbers are truly a bright light amongst all you are dealing with. :bighug: I'm glad having just a soft collar is working for him.

Appy vines for Minka and Harvey (if he really needs them:rolleyes:).

At least Cinco's numbers are great despite the chaos! I really hope you get Minka's appy issues sorted soon, it must be so frustrating. :bighug: Hope Harvey's stomach is feeling better soon, too.

We had a beautiful day in the low 80's today... but it's going to be in the 90's all week with classic DC 400% humidity! Looks like we're both skipping Spring.

Cinco looks fantastic!!!! :D

Sorry to hear that Minka's appy is off. I have one new trick that is working for Billie - raw goat's milk. Rhiannon mentioned it in one of Shadow's condos and I figured it might be a hit with my dairy queen so I picked some up. So far, Billie is loving it. I am giving her some with her metronidazole. I asked the girl at the pet store about it and she said a lot of people use it to help kitties with appy issues. It's supposed to be nutritious, easy to digest, and very tasty. She said it can be given straight and/or mixed with food to entice kitties to eat. Rhiannon mentioned the Primal brand but our store didn't have that so I got the Answers brand. Any store that carries Primal products can order it. If Minka likes milk, it might be worth a try! I hope she eats better tomorrow.

I just realized that, except for that PMPS, Cinco spent pretty much all day yesterday in "normal" numbers!!!

Looks like he stretched those normal numbers out through today's AM cycle too...now if we can just throw out tonight's PMPS too and he does the same thing tonight, you'd have 2 whole days in normal numbers!

Hey Cinco...Sheba wants to play waterpolo in the lagoon! I need some help setting up the nets! Hurry on down and give me a paw~ China

Thanks for stopping in today, Molly, Bron, Elise, Patricia, Deanna, Chris and Rhiannon.

Cinco has continued his green obsession. Even though the PMPS was outside "normal" numbers, I'm still pretty darned happy with it. Looking at his spreadsheet, I have a hard time believing it's his! (ANTI-JINX)
He was very enamored with the mid-50s tonight. Had to break out the 8% to get him started back up. I think he had too much fun playing water polo with Sheba and China and didn't want to stop. He's taking his sweet time getting out, but I have no plans for tomorrow, so as long as he stays safe, I'm content to just try to coax him out. I don't want to overcarb him and break the momentum. :D

Minka continued to feel poorly all evening. She was eating a little more baby food by bedtime, though. I think we hit and passed the goal of two jars - she might have just topped 2.5. Not ideal, but it's calories, so I'm going to be happy about it and hope for at least a little cat food tomorrow. Sasha, meanwhile was thrilled with all the baby food being opened and was very insistent about getting her share - and then some! Arthritis or no, she can move pretty well when motivated! Harvey, too, seemed to perk up. He even ate almost all of his dinner, eventually. He also got some chicken and broth that Minka turned down, and some Max Cat duck, as did Sasha. Those two are making out like bandits as I try to find something Minka will eat! I wonder how much they paid her???:p

@Deanna & Billie, I've had goat's milk suggested to me before, but Minka has never been a milk fan. Harvey, on the other hand, loves it. I did get a small packet given to me at one of the pet stores when I was talking to the clerk about our appy issues. I've never tried it. I might break it out tomorrow if Minka is still not eating. If worse comes to worst, Harvey will probably clean it up!

I appreciate all the vines, and the hugs are really nice, too. The support I get here is really a huge part of keeping me sane. :bighug:back to you all!

Cinco is working his juice so well :D:D:D

When Vyktors being stubborn about eating and the bowl holding or oogie hand feeding isn't doing it for him I can often get a little into him by dropping little balls of food right in front of him (great on the carpet!). He puts his head up when I go over to him so I drop the ball of food right where he's going to want to put his head back down so he has to eat it or lie in it. Most times he'll eat it - sometimes he just moves off elsewhere. If his head isn't up I drop a little ball on his paw and he's usually eaten it when I come and check a few minutes later.

Hmmm, Serryn. That's an interesting technique. Right now using the spoon or holding the plate practically up against her face are my most successful moves. She's pretty messy when she licks the food and generally ends up with some on her bib and paws, which she licks off, so maybe I should try dropping some there intentionally. Thanks for the tip!

Cinco is looking great. I hope the hot spot heals soon. At least the soft collar is working so far. Sending appy vines for Minka. It sounds like Harvey is being picky. I hope that's all it is. :bighug::bighug:
