Yesterday's smokey red, yellow, pink
Back up the dosing ladder we go. We are slowly increasing the juice to accommodate the increase in Zener's budesonide. With all the fire-related stress around here, the beans need some chemical management too. If not much BG change tonight, back up we go in the morning.
We are having a break from the smoke today, ah, fresh air. MamaLizBean got in a little run, and a visit to the first farmer's market of the summer. This morning Zener and Tillie are helping her in the garden. We haven't been able to be outside for several days. cat_pet_icon
OT Slide Fire Report
Yesterday was a cloudy, cool and still day that caused an inversion over Oak Creek canyon and the fire. This kept smoke near the fire so we had very smoky conditions at our house and all over town. It reminded me of the air quality in Beijing when I was there in 2008 - see it, smell it, taste it. How the firefighters work in this stuff is beyond me, so grateful they do! The conditions helped the firefighters in some areas, and hindered others because flights were not possible because of poor visibility, still progress is being made. There are over 1000 firefighters on this one and the base camp is just two miles to our south. It's like a new little city appeared! The incident managers predict all the back burning will be completed by the end of the day Tuesday, so we will be able to relax a little more then. The pre-evacuation notice for the neighborhood directly between us and the fire, will be lifted tomorrow at noon, if all goes well today. When that happens, we will feel much better and unpack some of our stuff, but keep the kitties "to go" box ready as it will be mid-July before we are out of the worst of fire season.
Happy holiday weekend in the US and wishing all in LL a calm and drama free Sunday. :YMHUG:
