Good morning all! Our hearts go out to everyone in our neighbor Joplin. The National Weather Service just issued a statement that this afternoon will be the worst severe weather threat in the history of Tulsa with tornadoes, hail, damaging winds. Hopefully they are wrong. Of course, Tarragon must have heard the forecast because he is on the pink floor. Luckily, my DS is home with him all day so that should help his anxiety somewhat.

Our thoughts and prayers are still going out to MJ in the loss of Butthead.

Hope everyone has a safe day!

Stay safe. One of our crews was there in Joplin just minutes after the tornado. I've known these guys for years and seeing them break down in tears on the air is something that will stay with me. As they say, "keep a weather eye to the sky!"

Abby - Do you work for TWC? Was that Mike Bettes? I saw that he broke down. I always watch that station when any event happens and have never seen him that upset.

We know quite a few people from Joplin and are still waiting to hear from some of them. They don't have cell phone service, so there really isn't much info coming out. My friend was on her way back from the lake and had driven through there about 1/2 an hour before it hit. Such a sad sad tragedy.

Melissa, I hope the weather people are wrong and you don't have any bad storms. Such tragedy in Joplin. Stay safe today and sending prayers to everyone there.

I was just watching the news and saw they are forecasting more tornadoes in the same area and other surrounding areas. Stay safe, Melissa!!! No trying to get somewhere over the rainbow, you might meet up with some lions, tigers, and bears, Oh My! All levity aside, my heart goes out to those in Joplin.

Take care of yourself. I hope Tarragon gives you some good numbers today! :-D

Melissa, Tarragon and family,

Stay safe and i'm hoping the weather forecast is wrong. Even up here in Saskatoon i'm hearing about the predicted tornado outbreak in the states on the news.

And Tarragon you can come down off that pink floor anytime you want ;-)

Hi guys - stay safe - the weather there has been unreal. I fell for all those affected by the storms. Be safe. I hope those that you are waiting to here from are safe as well. Even our local news has been making weather in your area their top priority. Such sad devastation there.

And Tarragon?: think blue, maybe green. :-D

Yes Melissa, I work at TWC. Mike and the crew were right behind the tornado and arrived about 10 minutes after it hit the hospital. One of the guys that reports to me had been chasing with them for 2 weeks...and he and Dr. Forbes had just left to come back here earlier that day.

But it will get dangerous in Oklahoma today...so I'm serious when I advise to keep eyes and ears to the sky (and TV!) Remember to keep kitty things in your emergency kit too!

Thanks guys! We are watching and waiting. Hopefully it will not be that bad, but it sounds like all of the ingredients will be just right.

Abby - My DS was actually just making some grab and go items and made some up for the kitties and dog as well. Thank you for the thoughts.

Melissa: Oh Tarragon...come down..I hope you have come off that pink floor today!!

Thinking of you all in Tornado Alley. I could not believe the devastation in Joplin and Beth's videos were so scary!! I hope you are staying safe and have a good, safe place to go if a tornado heads your way.

It is just about ready to hit Tulsa. OKC got hit hard with 7 dead as of now. It isn't coming in as a tornado but they are popping up everywhere. I will let you guys know how it turns out. Thank you for all of you thoughts!

We are still under a tornado warning. However, the rain and straight line winds are past us. A lot of tornadoes all around and straight line winds with power outage. It will be awhile before it is over and we really know the damage. Thank you all for your concern. It is a scary night.

On an up note, Tarragon was at 200 PMPS and 167 at +4.

All things considered that's not a bad PMPS! I've been watching...tornado warnings to the north and south of Tulsa.

If anyone knows anyone in Dallas they're getting tornadoes now.
