The past few days Jack has picked a color and stuck with it. Monday was yellow day and yesterday was a completely green day. He didn't quite make it to 50, but since I steered a bit and I don't need him hovering at the edge of the lagoon I gave a small reduction. In hindsight I should have given a bigger reduction last night to help drain the depot a bit. It's too easy to arm-chair quarterback the next day:D.

Now he is dropping at +3 which is very rare for him. Luckily I'm stocked up on supplies and know the drill but oh boy, today is looking like it could be a very active cycle. Unless Jack pulls a fast one and comes up quick, he may be one VERY happy camper today with lots of tasty mc and hc fuds.

...and the carb loading is in full swing. He's already gone through almost a can of ff gravy lovers... He is going to be one fat happy cat today. Really wishing I would have done a depot draining shot last night now:facepalm:

Darn antibodies are showing off their unpredictability. Surf a little higher Jack.

Beware those all green days. They usually mean fun to follow.

Yeah, hindsight sure is 20/20. Now that I look back, I would have done things a bit different. Live and learn.

I'm actually getting a little concerned with the boy. He usually starts dropping between +4 and +5, but I'm having a little trouble getting him up over 50 and we haven't hit the active part of the cycle. Broke out the syrup and might need to start doing just the gravy portion of the gravy lovers. He has a big stomach, but I don't want to push filling him up to early in the cycle.

I was thinking a couple drops of syrup would be a good idea right about now. There may be a limit to an acro appetite, hard as that is to believe. :p I also found too much wheat based gravy had LB consequences the next day.

I also found Neko dropped earlier when she was doing an all green reduction earning cycle. Hope that means the +4/5 is a non event.

Thanks Wendy, that was what I was thinking as well. He got some syrup topper 15min ago. I can count on one hand the number of times he has been too full to eat. That was pre-FD days though and with these numbers I'd rather not push my luck.

On the plus side, I've been trying to put a little weight on him, and these extra fuds should help that out a bit.

Hoping for an uneventful day as well, already put one client on notice that we may need to reschedule. I'm definitely not leaving him in these numbers.

Don't beat yourself up about lack of hind sight. It's also possible the antibody army is fatiguing a little. Not something you can ever predict. But if you start to see more all green cycles, I would become ultra conservative in dosing. The SS is starting to look a little Cobbs' did when he did a dose tumble.

With this cat I expect the unexpected and don't beat myself up much due to his unpredictability. We are back in the greens for now, but I will still be testing in another 30min until I can trust he isn't going to start dropping again. I have a feeling the syrup bumped up the number and it will start falling as the quick sugar hit starts wearing off. He is keeping me on my toes today!

I have Cobb's SS in a bookmark, I'll have to take a look again now that we are getting into that window where the IAA *could* start breaking.

Jack pulling a new stunt for you, 29 straight hours of greens. That syrup looks like you will get a blue at the 3oth hour.

Jack pulling a new stunt for you,
This one is, I actually went back and looked and we've had green runs, but they always had a blue break the combo. Never too old to learn new tricks I guess.

At least he is coming back up, I was a little worried at the low numbers and early drop but Wendy's crystal ball seems to be working better then mine and he is coming back up which is good... something I normally don't say with this cat.

Glad to see him out of the deep end
Me too.

Paws crossed! What a beautiful spreadsheet today.
I like the greens, but light green early in a cycle was a little more then I wanted. It took more then a can of ff gravy lovers and some syrup to get him into a safer range. He is a high dose cat and has acromegaly so no real chance at remission. I'm happy keeping him under the renal threshold these days.

So, thinking ahead to tonight's dose. While he went into reduction territory this am, it was depot influenced. I'm foggy on what the general guidelines are in this situation.

We were at 24u for the last few cycles, pmps last night was 22u, amps this morning was 23u where I had planned to keep him. He has a big depot which is most likely still influencing the numbers.

I'm thinking a depot draining shot tonight, ~50% dose. Then pick up on a new dose tomorrow morning, I'm just not sure what to try out. 22u seemed like too little a week or so ago, but I'm incline to give it another shot. He never really settled down on 22u, we had some early greens but those turned into yellows and pinks. Acro and IAA make for a real guessing game sometimes... Stinkin Rotten Capt.

I like your plan. Just in case the antibodies are on the defensive, caution is a good idea. It's mostly the 24 U depot talking now, but at this size dose, a 2U reduction is good.
